Might make this Whatever Wednesday from now on.
Theme of the day gives me a jumping off point for writing an entry.
Wonderful Wednesday came from my time at Emory. For my first two years there we had classes Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday was often lab day for the various courses we were taking. Wednesday was our day to catch up on work and get ready for our next set of classes. Not that really happened but it was useful to keep up with courses. They got rid of Wonderful Wednesday when we went from quarters to semesters and changed the grading scale a bit too. I think I was the only one of my siblings that experienced it.
This week so far has been a bit of a loss. Caroline has midterms so things are not like the usual are during a school week. There are some other things that showed up and the weather is doing me no favors.
The colder it gets the more I have to be careful now. Part of my right lung is not operating at capacity due to abuse on my part when I was in theater and afterwards where I did not use a respirator and particulate matter has lodged in my lungs. Because I have diminished lung capacity, the cold air going into the lungs does not warm up as quickly as it did so I have a pain in my chest and I feel a little short of breath. I have talked to my doctor and know what I have to look out for and what I can do to minimize this effect. Scarves are my friends now.
Sometimes getting older stinks but, as Peter puts it, sure as heck beats the alternative.
I am grateful for the ability to breath.

This year the Crazy Eight Press Anthology is a series of pulp stories written by various authors and edited by Robert Greenberger entitled Thrilling Adventure Yarns.
And I have a hard boiled detective story that will be published in it.
We have a Kickstarter for it that started yesterday and runs through February 19, 2019.
You can find that here
I have agreed to tuckerize two people within the novel and the details of that are on the web page. Tuckerization is named after the late great Wilson “Bob” Tucker and it is a fandom term for using a real person’s name in a story as a form of shout out or in-joke and yes I have been tuckerized more than once. Peter was the murder victim in one of his friend Roberta’s mystery novels.
My story is done but I am currently trying to trim it down to closer to the word count, which is an interesting exercise in itself.
I am pretty happy with the story. The current title is “Trouble came walking through My Door” which may change.
Please take a look and feel free to share the kickstarter.
You really want to be able to read Peter’s story which is a stretch goal. It’s a lot of fun.
I am grateful I have this opportunity.

Which sounds like a painting you would find in the Louvre.
As I type this I am surrounded by warm cats. The feeling of a purring cat on one’s feet is one I can highly recommend for what ails you.
I am only half a cup of coffee in to the day so thoughts are still swirling around my head.
Caroline had a blast at her Model UN meeting. I have a feeling she is going to be sleeping in this morning. She has the next two days off. Monday is Martin Luther King day and she doesn’t have midterms until Wednesday. Gives the world some time to dry out and warm up.
Today is an indoor day. I have a couple of things on my list I want to get done.
The big one is to finish my edit on my story. The second is to finish my picture searching for my puppetry selling site.
I need a new digital camera. My previous one has up and died after almost 20 years of service. Battery replacement is not working. Something just went within and fixing it would cost more than the camera. I am sad because that camera and I had a lot of adventures and it took a lot of great photos. Anyone have any suggestions?
Currently with the wind, it looks like it is raining sideways. The biggest problem is when the temperature plummets into the teens which will freeze any standing water. And with this I expect the number of potholes to magically appear.
We saw Split yesterday, which is the second part of a trilogy. Peter and I talked about it and came to the conclusion that only James McAvoy could have pulled that character off. His performance was amazing and made up for the confusing story all around him. We also re-watched Avengers: Infinity War. The end still hurts a lot.
I think we are doing another movie day today. Maybe we will stick with happy sunny films to counteract the gloom outside.
I am grateful for heat that works.

Currently we are slated for rain, which will freeze overnight.
The good thing is that Caroline has Monday off so I am not worrying about slipping and sliding.
Right now it is overcast.
If the front moves the wrong way then we get snow but the line keeps moving north so rain it is for us.
Caroline is off at Model Un for the day.
Peter has an appointment with his eye doctor for his annual check-up. His eyes have been changing so there may be an adjustment in his prescription.
I am rewriting a short story and it is harder than I thought to trim this. I need to give up some of it that I really like but it has to go because it doesn’t move the story forward. I have an easier time editing other people.
According to a couple of articles on memory and getting things done, it is better to write things down and draw things out to keep it in the memory. There is apparently a bit of a disconnect if one does it electronically.
There is another article about how the lack of teaching cursive in school is bad for brains. Apparently cursive activates another part of the brain that printing does not. Caroline knows the basics of cursive and given time she can write in it but it is more difficult for her than it is for me.
I have pulled out a couple of notebooks and started writing down lists. It is both relieving and frustrating at the same time. It gives me more of an idea of how long things are taking as opposed to how long I think it is going to take.
I am grateful for lists that work.

Apparently the high pressure system that was suppose to make all this snow fall as rain lost. We got about an inch but it is already melting. Here’s to it being gone before we go back below freezing this evening.
I didn’t cover the car figuring that it would be rain so that has to be dealt with.
I did restock the French toast kit yesterday so we are good for the weekend.
There may be a stray flake or two before we just go to partly cloudy.
So it is an indoor day which is fine by me.
I am revising a short story and continuing my photo gathering for my website where I am going to give a go to sell puppets. I also have to complete the revisions on the Patreon site.
That’s my online tasks. There are also my off line tasks or, as we use to call it, life.
Ok one foot in front of the other but no going out the door because it is slushy.
I am grateful for puppets I have made.
