Bloody Torchwood

Posted By on August 3, 2009

I am going to allow spoilers in the comment section of this so I am going to be very general in my comments here.

I thought it was painful to watch but very well written and directed. I can now go and read everyone’s reaction. I did know a little going in but I am glad I didn’t know everything because it was a gut punch when I got to the end.

It was the best of the three seasons to me. The format made them concentrate more on just one story and the characters acting and reacting to each other and the situation.

I need to think a little more about what I have seen but my gut reaction is I thought it was brilliant but painful to watch.

I am grateful I wasn’t too spoiled before I saw it.

I just watched all 5 hours Saturday evening, experienced the same sense of gut-punch. Then just after finishing I got a call that a very close friend had taken his life earlier that day. I honestly felt prepared for the reality punch having just experienced the fictional. It’s a testament to how well presented the story and characters were that the sense of loss was so powerful.

Amazing storytelling. I hope subsequent stories on all three series deal with how people feel about a government that was forcibly taking their children.
