Ask Me A Question

I haven’t done this in a while and I know I picked some new readers.
So Ask Me A Question.
I will state that there are subjects I prefer not to talk about and there are other subjects I can’t including those I have signed an NDA on or Peter has signed one on. So please understand if I say that I can’t answer that.
I am grateful for questions.
What literary character do you feel you are the most like?
Wow. That’s a really hard one. I mean really hard.
I like Sherlock Holmes for his analytical skills.
But I can’t think of any I feel like.
What is the “Tin Tomato?”
ANSWER: My first car which was a Toyota Tercel. It was the color of a rip tomato. It had its engine fall out and then it was stolen only to re-appear right before graduation from Yale.
I loved that car.
Let’s say I give you tomorrow the money, materials, guarantee to obtain the use of any licensed character(s) you wanted or full support if you wanted to do something 100% original to create your dream project in puppeteering. Size isn’t even an issue.
What are you going to do?
________________________________________________________________________________
Answer: My Lon Chaney show that I have been working on as an idea off and on for years now. Showing his life with an actor and his films (including some of the missing ones) as various forms of Puppetry.
As both an old film buff and an old school horror film geek I’ve gotta say…
That sounds freakin’ cool as all get out.
What was the most surprising part of becoming a parent?
TWL
Answer: How my entire life changed in an instant. The first time I held her my brain seem to re-arrange what was important and what was not as important.
Peter has been about favorite dream projects that aren’t actually being planned (Phantom meets Tarzan). Do you have a favorite project that you wish he would or could do, but isn’t currently planned?
Answer:I wish he would write Dr. Strange. I think he could do well with Marvel’s major magic user.
I am a lifelong Popeye fan. Drawing Popeye (and GROO)at the age of 7 is what got me into drawing. I now have a Bachelors in Fine Arts in drawing/painting. I got a copy of the Wedding of Popeye and Olive Oyl from 1999 and was very surprised that you were the writer! How did this project come about? I’ve studied Popeye and the history and know that nothing really has been done with him other than Hy Eisman drawing the Sunday portion of the strip and the CGI movie a few years back.
Have you ever thought of doing another story of Popeye? I miss the character and feel that after almost 80 years, he has been forgotten by the general public. I have asked King Features if there were plans a few years back on anything, and they said no.
PLEASE help to keep the legend alive. I know they just released teh Fleischer Studios b/w episodes, but the fans need more!!!! ANd I’m more than willing to do the artwork for a new book (check out my blog and http://myspace.com/nuttallart for examples of my work)
