Long Night

I am putting this entry behind a cut because it might be a bit gross for some. Caroline is sick with some sort of gastrointestinal problem. This entry is about that problem.
I am grateful for any sleep that any of us got last night and this morning.
On Saturday late in the afternoon Caroline started to run a fever. She was 103.5 after her nap. We called the doctor
I am grateful that I don’t have kids.
I am sorry that Caroline is not feeling well. I hope she gets better soon. And i hope you get some decent and undisturbed sleep soon.
And here I’ve been complaining just because Katherine’s not sleeping well. Nothin’ like a dose of perspective.
No fun at all — best wishes to all three of you for a speedy recovery!

We just went through the same thing starting a week ago saturday with our 18 month old (although no fever preceeded the throwing up and diarrhea). Moderate fever and lots of throwing up for about 18-24 hours, lethargy and mild fever continuing for another 36-48 hours, and a total of about 5 days of diarrhea (and tremendous thirst – he’d drink about 24-30 ozs of water/milk upon waking each morning). I assume it was the stomach flu as my wife came down with the same symptoms just as my son was getting better. Fortunately, neither my other son nor I caught it. He’s fine now.
