Have you ever noticed?

Posted By on August 25, 2004

Have you ever noticed that after a flame war on a mailing list dies down or is stomped out that for a while the list is much quieter? Everyone seems cautious and trying to avoid the embers left from the flames

Have you ever noticed that if you have two kinds of milk in the fridge (say whole and skim), that you rarely buy them at the same time? It seems that one is always needing to be bought since we are almost out. But when you went to the store, there was too much of one to buy another since milk is so expensive.

Have you ever noticed that if you buy the exact amount of fabric suggested on the back of the pattern, you have too little but if you buy a bit more you end up with lots of extra fabric?

Have you ever noticed that wire hangers breed but plastic ones (especially the nice ones) don

Have you had a birthday recently? These thoughts always hit me around my birthday. Everything you have said is too true.

I’m glad your cats get along with your baby as well. I know you’d hate to have to get rid of that baby after all the time you’ve invested in her.

the middle of the night is always a strange time for ideas and thought processes…the other night I woke up at a quarter to two, went to the bathroom, realized I could see, which meant I fell asleep with my glasses on and realized that meant I hadnt thrown the laundry into the dryer before I fell asleep, so headed down to the basement so I’d have dry clothes in the morning!

Have you ever noticed that time speeds up as you get older? It use to be that Christmas took forever to show up but now you wonder where the first half of the year went.

Sadly, yes… now that I’m in my 30s, time seems to pass a lot faster. I started noticing this after I turned 25, but lately, it’s a lot more obvious to me. Part of it is watching my child grow up, the other is realizing that I haven’t done as much as I wanted or hoped to do in my life. There’s still plenty of time, and yet not nearly enough.
