Cult TV

The TV Guide listed what they believe is the top 25 cult shows to American Audiences. I seem to favor cult shows since I watched all 25 at one time or another. The reason I say American Audiences is that even though they list Dr. Who, the Prisoner and the Avengers they don

“Of their up and coming cult TV I watch Alias and am thinking about giving Stargate a try since it is a new series.”

Well, sorta. 🙂 Season eight of Stargate: SG-1 will have the spinoff Stargate: Atlantis run in parallel, and in fact right after it like Buffy and Angel their first two years together. Still, the season opener should be a pretty good place for a new viewer to jump into SG-1, if desired; they’re pretty good about filling in new viewers, especially about events from prior years.

I watched ALL the Sid and Marty Kroft series. My favorite was the Banana Splits but Puffinstuff was a close second followed by the Bugaloos.

Bugaloos was my Krofft of choice (and where I first learned about Cockney rhyming slang), followed by Lidsville (and a crush on Butch Patrick).

DR. Who: I agree. Tom Baker was the best one.

Farscape: I just don’t get it. It was okay, but…

I don’t get Ab Fab either.

How can shows that ran long enough to make it to syndication really be “cult” shows? The Simpsons, for goodness sake, has been on the air for 15 years.

Shouldn’t a cult show be like a shooting star, burn brightly and then fade away?

I’m disappointed that two of my favorites didn’t make it, Sliders and X-Files. You know the funny thing about both those shows is that they were both hits and both started on a Friday night. both also ran just a bit too long. The stories tanked after the main character left the show. Although, Sliders started tanking when Jerry’s brother joined them and Sabrina left.

Stargate isn’t exactly a new show…it’s been on for at least five years.

The x-files was number 2! Maybe you need to read more carefully
