    Well said.

With the same sentiments that you have Kathy, I really do believe we’ve forgotten what Memorial Day is all about. Even when the President makes his annual visit to the Tomb of the Unknown, I’m not sure if he sees the significance in what he is doing.

I had my father-in-law’s name added to the list of those to be commemorated at the WWII Memorial. He’s 95 and I wanted him remembered for what he not only did, but his three other brothers who served in the same war. He saved all the letters that was written to him while he served and brought them home. One of them stands out-was one from his mother. She told him she would gladly take any of their places so they could be home. These letters are over 60 years old, but still could be any of the letters written by mothers, wifes, and loved ones to anyone that served in any of the wars.

May you, Peter, Ariel, and Caroline have a wonderful day of remembering all those who served and are serving our country.

Will be in your great city of New York–1ST for Donna–I’m looking forward to seeing the sites and listening to the sounds of NYC.
