Caroline went back to school today. Peter drove her because she overslept a bit. She was ready to go back. Ariel goes back this weekend to college for choir obligations that include going to Disney World to sing (hard life I know).

I have my usual obligations today which structures my Monday pretty well. I do need to get a few things done errand wise and as long as I stick to main roads, I’m OK. The side roads are still a bit of a mess. I am hoping that the sun will fix that.

My apologies to Jets Fans, yes they won. Just remember that next week they face a Bengal team that is serious ticked off because of the drubbing they just received and they will be coming to play or rather the Jets are going there.

I do need to get my glasses fixed. I have a bad feeling that the frames are beyond repair.

I am grateful that Caroline was happy to go back to school.

But it’s OK because Caroline’s friend Katie was in town and the two of them are having a grand time playing together today.

It’s snowing again today which is getting funnier by the minute. We make plans to go as a family to the North Shore and get some errands done along with some fun stuff. We wake up the next morning and it is snowing. So we changed our plans and it’s all good.

Caroline watched “It’s a Good Life” from the Twilight Zone. She commented that she can do the same thing with her eyes. We call it anime eyes but she is right, she can reproduce that look. We showed her a picture of Bill today and she remembered meeting him.

I haven’t sat down and written out my to-do list for this year and looked at the calendar to make a schedule for the things I want to do this year. I know I have one thing hanging over my head and other two projects looming. Some where I think my brain is thinking that if I don’t write it down, I don’t have to do it. Which is further from the truth than I can imagine.

I am having a hard time remembering which day it is. Having the holiday on a Thursday makes Friday feel like Sunday. It also makes Saturday feel like Sunday and finally Sunday feel like Sunday. Monday Caroline goes back to school and then we will be back on schedule.

Our Internet connection is very wonky today so I don’t know if I will be able to post this anytime soon. But I am going to try.

Ohio State Won! But we didn’t get the end of Scrubs because the game went over. We did get Better Off Ted with a great Doctor Who shout-out in the “b” plot. Phil and Les went to the sub-basement to rescue a robot that they had great affection for and in the corner was a gold Dalek. But Ohio State Won! I was born a Buckeye having been born in the OSU hospital so I have a soft spot for that football team.

Sorry Popfiend, I don’t think that the Jets are going to get it done. It would be nice for the team and for Sanchez who is the last Rookie quarterback with a shot. But I think we all know in our heart of hearts what is going to happen since it has happened so many times in the past.

And we have snow again. This is the little itty-bitty flake that can accumulate over time but it doesn’t really look like it is snowing. The streets look wet and a little sloppy so if it all freezes tonight, we have icy conditions tomorrow.

I am grateful that Caroline had a playdate with Katie.

Last night we stayed home out of the cold wet rain/sheet and played various board games including Disney Scene It 2 and the Lilo and Stitch game. We discovered that Caroline has a very good memory. It is almost photographic. She would look at a clip and be able to bring forth the information on questions I couldn’t even recall within the clip. And her find it skills are amazing. Given a set of 9 to 12 images, she can pick out where a certain one is with not much time to study the whole picture. It was amazing.

We rang in the New Year with Ðìçk Clark. Caroline made it to about 11:15 and then went to sleep after we called our parents and Peter called Gwen to wish her a happy birthday (Happy Birthday Gwen! I hope you have a very good day and enjoy the play.) and Shana to wish her a Happy New Year.

Today I think Peter and I are going to see Sherlock Holmes again and just take it easy.

OUCHIE OUCHIE I just scalded my tongue on a gulp of coffee. Boy, I hope this is not a portent for the coming year. Ok I am seriously awake now.

So the coffee has kicked in and I am going to go work on a few things I want to do before going to the movies.

It is snowing outside. It started when we woke up and is supposed to turn to sleet then rain then back to snow during the day. But right now it is big fluffy snowflakes and the ground is covered along with the roads.

2009 had its ups and downs. A couple of the downs really hurt and the ups didn’t sustain us through the downs but we came out on the other side rather intact. We lost friends and loved ones this year. We made new friends as well. We traveled to new places and visited old haunts. All in all, pretty much a typical year. Here to 2010 being a better year because the last couple have kicked me pretty hard in the teeth

I kept the blog going which I have been doing for six year now. I am kind of proud of how many days I did post. It is something I do in the morning to clear my brain and start up the day. And to add to my social networking, I did join Facebook this year under Kathleen O’Shea David so old aquantiences can find me as well as those who met me after I was wed. I am currently not tweeting. I think Facebook is as short as I can go. After that I can text to those who need the information.

A lot of people are talking about the decade so I went back to think what happened to me in the past decade. At the beginning I had a job that I loved and a boyfriend that I loved. 10 years later I married the boyfriend and we had a lovely daughter together. I was downsized out of the job, which was sad at the time because I did love that job. However it allowed me to be really relevant in my daughter’s life, which I continue to be.

It has been a creative decade for me. I have expanded my horizons and learned how to make new things. I took a doll-making course from Wendy Froud that really helped me become a doll maker rather than just a dabbler. I made new puppets and revamped my Doctor Who set. I created Phluzzies. I had a story published in a Doctor Who anthology, which fulfilled two checks on my bucket list, to be a published author and to write Doctor Who. I showed my artwork at various conventions and a gallery. I have been more public about what I do in terms of my creative side.

I learned and I taught others. I laughed and shared a good laugh with others. I loved and was loved in return. And in the end that’s really all I ask out of life.

What do I want out of the next Year? That’s a tale for another day.

I am grateful to all that happened to me in 2009.
