So this morning I finished fixing the dishwasher and got the dishes in and washing. I got another coat of paint on the armor for Caroline. I picked up the living room from yesterday and put a few more things in the must go to Shoreleave pile. Today is a lot of sewing and painting to complete two costumes. There is also laundry and some shopping to be done. And then the packing will commence. Tomorrow morning the older cat sitter will arrive and we will pack up and go.
Right now my hands look like a mess. I have paint and glue and several other substances on them. I am waiting until I am all done and then the lava soap comes out and I scrub them down.
I am grateful to the individual who made Peter feel much better yesterday. I know you will never read this but you are a class act all the way.

And to my brother-in-law Wally.
This year I remembered that you both had the same birthday although Wally is older by a few.
My brother Patrick aka the Brain that walks on legs aka Patricochet is a very smart man. He was a very smart baby and kept being smart as he became an adult. He likes puzzled and things to think about. He is excellent at video games of all sorts. I use to watch him play Lara Croft and Prince of Persia because I am, sadly, lacking the hand/eye coordination that is needed for those sorts of games. So I would sit down and watch Patrick play his way through various games.
He and I share similar tastes in books. If I really like something I know I can recommend it to him and he’ll at least like it. He use to raid my bookshelves of things to read when we lived in the same house.
He is a go-getter. He works hard to achieve his goals and has achieved many of them.
He is a good father to his daughter. She is a really sweet girl who is just a smart (if not more so) than both of her brilliant parents. He married a woman as smart as him who is lovely and a great mom to boot.
I haven’t seen him in a while but I figure that when we do get together, things will fall back into place pretty quick. He’s my baby brother and I love him.
Happy Birthday Bro. Hope it is a good one.
I am grateful that Patrick is my brother.

Today is the Birthday of The Dali Lama and Bush JR along with Frida Kahlo. So Happy Birthday to them and everyone else who shares this natal day.
Today is clean like the wind day! Which is fine. Tomorrow is Make Costumes like it is no tomorrow day! Thursday is finish everything up and Pack Day! Friday is Travel Day! Then I think I can breath.
I am grateful that I did figure out one piece of the costume that was giving me fits.

There are only so many hours in a day and so many minutes in those hours. I have to figure out the best way to use my time for the rest of the week. I am looking forward to Shoreleave and am planning as if we are coming but I am also keeping an eye on the situation here as well.
Caroline really wants to go to camp which starts this week for her. Next week we will be back to normal (or as normal as it gets around here) before Peter is off on a business trip that includes San Diego Comic Con (we decided that Caroline will not attended until she is at least 10).
Peter is getting better slowly. There is forward progress that I can see each day.
So off to clean and create.
I am grateful for things that make cleaning easier.

Today is a day to celebrate being an American which involves foods that we declare American, blowing things up, and a lot of flag waving. I put out our American Flag this morning. It’s not a big one but it does the job.
What I got done yesterday
Mwahaahaahaaa.
More to be done today along with cleaning which I plan to divide my time down on. It would be a good day to get some paper mache done so I can let it dry outside.
It is already pretty hot and only going to get hotter as the day goes on.
There is a Fourth of July Parade in town today. We may go if it is not too hot to see it but I am thinking that staying home is a better option today. I do know that a viewing of 1776 is a given.
Dinner is going to consist of hot dogs and hamburgers along with other American staple foods. Then we might go down to the water to watch the fireworks a couple of towns over.
I am grateful for my country.
