And Happy Samhain to those who celebrate it. I think the veil thinned out a couple of days early up here.
Today is prep day for the evening where I hope to be able to give out comic books to kids. I have a lot of work ahead of me to get ready for this. I do know that the local government has not postponed Halloween here so I am going to assume that the kids will come.
Caroline is ready to go trick or treating. I finished her costume yesterday. I need to take some pictures of it. She designed it and I made it. She is a Fairy Princess this year.
We have pumpkins to carve and comic books to find.
Everyone have a safe and Happy Halloween.
I am grateful that we can have trick or treating today.

Although we are on the back end of it. The wind is much less than it was yesterday. We have lots of little limbs all over the lawn along with some larger ones. We have sunshine but that is with dark clouds rolling through. The wind is our biggest concern right now even though it is diminished.
We awoke to the sound of the generator going so we knew that the power was out. That and the cable were not working this morning. Both were back by 10:00AM.
We are fine. Others not so much. I have a couple of friends who are sorting out their homes right now. I ask for your good thoughts and prayers for them and swift recovery.
It was scary last night. The house shook in the wind. We heard trees cracking.
This morning we have the chorus of chainsaws. You can get up and down our street. I am seeing lots of cars doing so. We are a main drag for fire and rescue so we get cleared out pretty fast.
We were lucky that we didn’t get rain that they predicted which I think helped with the trees.
Like I said before, we still have some wind whipping through here so we are playing it carefully here. We aren’t planning on going anywhere today.
Be safe everyone.
I am grateful that we came through this storm as well as we did.

Caroline doesn’t have school the next two days and I can say that I am happy about that. I wouldn’t want her to step toe out of the house unless it is totally necessary.
They are evacuating some parts of the town but not all the houses south of the railroad like last time. The high tide Monday/Tuesday is going to be the problem for the area with the storm surge on top of the full moon.
We have stocked food and water. We have batteries but we always have batteries because we need them for lots of things. I can make French toast if I wanted to, although I might make pancakes this morning for something different.
Best of luck to all my friends working at Penguin and Random House with the merger. I hope everyone I like keeps their jobs.
Not many cars out on the road but that’s a good thing. There is no where to go so no one is going which is better considering the wind out there. And this is not as strong as the wind is going to be.
Right now we have power, Internet, and cable. We’ll see where we are by the end of the day.
So everyone stay safe today. With luck I will be back tomorrow with what happens today.
I am grateful for having electricity, cable, and Internet.

And I just got the graveyard out and the decorations up for Halloween. Sigh. Well I guess I will be weather watching for the next couple of days.
This could kill Halloween this year and a number of other activities that are planned for the next week. Play it by ear seems to be the mantra.
According to the news, batteries seem to be the hot commodity this year. I need to get a gallon of milk but that’s because we are almost out of milk. Sunday is my usual shopping day for the house but that might change a bit since we are going to Sacred Heart for a Concert a 1:30 on that day dependent on weather.
The world seems to be stopping and looking at the weather right now. Or at least the east coast part of it.
Stay Safe Everyone.
I am grateful for storms that miss.

Which I hope leads to a productive rest of the day. This morning I got the kitchen cleaned up and all the cat boxes cleaned from top to bottom. Now writing up this web log entry and then onto Caroline’s costume.
Peter is off to the West Coast for some business meetings and the like. Head Cases is moving forward at the usual pace that these things do. We will know more after this weekend.
The answer to the “who created those dolls” is coppermouse dolls. The twins were created by Melisa Matkin, who has gone onto to another style of doll called Waldorf Dolls.
Off to continue to be productive.
I am grateful for the productive times in my life.
