Monday Morning Musings Where did the Month go?

Posted By on February 25, 2019

Yes, I know that it is the shortest month on the calendar.

Yes, I know we did a lot in this month.

Still the year is moving pretty fast on me.

We watched the Oscars last night. It was pretty even handed in the awards. I think the biggest surprise was Olivia Coleman winning Best Actress. The buzz was that Glenn Close had finally gone from bridesmaid (seven times now) to bride but it was not to be. Black Panther was awarded for its world building and score. Gaga won for song. Bohemian Rhapsody got all the sound awards and Rami Malek deserved his win for channeling Freddy. Green Book won best picture even though it is a rather hot button issue film. It is not a perfect film but it was a fine film even with controversy.

I still don’t know why “Won’t you be my neighbor” and “Three Identical Strangers” were not nominated for documentary.

Caroline is back at school after a week off. And with that we go back to our schedule for a week such as it is.

Next week Peter is off on an adventure that I will talk about after the fact.

It doesn’t look like we are going to have our February snowstorm this year. Makes me a little concerned for March.

Puppets are on the table now they need to get off of it. I have to get things moving the direction I need to go.

I am grateful for pleasant evenings at home.

Rainy Sunday with high winds

Although it is rather quiet right now.

The evidence of the strong winds can be seen across the lawns of the neighborhood and there is more to come this evening.

Last week at this time we were driving to North Carolina to meet Lelianafor the first time. The weather was fine for driving and not too cold. We planned the trip between two storm fronts.

This week Caroline goes back to school after a week off except some homework.

This week will also be a pretty quiet one as we don’t have anything to gear up for.

I am going to use the week to try to figure out a schedule that I can live with that will allow me to get ahead on some projects.

LATER

Well that day took a change. I discovered I had lost my wallet. After tearing up the living room for about an hour, I sat and thought about the last time I used it. We called and it was there but that was on the North Shore so we drove through the rather thick fog and retrieved it.

Tonight is the Oscars, which we will be watching. I will probably be commenting on my Facebook page. Yes we are cheering for Black Panther. It’s not going to happen but it is nice to think about. I am betting on Roma.

I am grateful for getting my wallet back with nothing missing.

So another month is coming to a close. Sure it is the shortest but still it went fast.

In this month I went to Farpoint and got to tell Wally Shawn how much his work over the years has meant to me. The puppet was a hit so that’s always nice.

I met Liliana and got to hold her a lot. She snuggled into me and slept feeling safe and warm. I felt a peace I had not felt in a long time.

Movies were seen. I liked the last chapter in the HTTYD series. I enjoyed the Lego movie. I though Alita Battle Angel was not a bad translation of the manga and it was a visual feast.

TV was watched both on the networks and on various streaming services. My one disappointment was that Supergirl has gone so dark like all the other CW DC shows with the exception of Legends of Tomorrow.

Cats have been petted and snuggled and taken care of.

Next month is shaping up to be very active. We have conventions and film screening to go to. Plus all the other things that make up our daily lives.

I need to make some me time. I have been doing an hour of creative for the most part but want to make it more of a priority.

There are days that I am such a Mom.

I am grateful for my instincts.

I had to remind myself that it was Friday not Wednesday. Some how I got the weekend moved forward or back in my mind.

I have a short story I have to read through and put in the names I have been given to be tuckerized in my story. That’s a first for me. I think I have to sign a book to each as well but that is down the road.

Caroline and I have some plans for the day to get some projects moving forward.

There are cat boxes that need attending along with the regular household chores.

LATER

We saw Alita Battle Angel then went bowling. This evening we watched Paddington 2. A nice family day all in all.

Still need to do the cat boxes along with another couple of things.

I am grateful for time with my family

Went to Visit Liliana

Liliana and me

Yeah, so much for every day.

We went down to North Carolina to see Liliana, AJ, Ariel and Anthony.

I got to hold her a lot and was having lots of flashbacks to holding Caroline.

AJ is being a good big brother. He is very protective of his little sister.

It was a break that I didn’t know I needed.

A new life in the world can change your perspective on so many things.

Caroline and her niece and nephew

We had a lovely visit and are very glad we went.

I am grateful that I met Liliana.
