Caroline’s 7th Birthday Party is in 2 days

Posted By on December 3, 2009

OK got all but one corner of the living room cleaned up which shouldn’t take too long. I also got all the laundry done for this week which was great. Peter took Caroline out for lunch and a series of errands. Then Peter and Caroline went out into the yard and took care of the major leaf clean-up for the year before the storm came roaring through. This morning the yard still looks fine except a few branches that fell. No stray trash cans are in our lawn and we have all of ours so that is a plus.

Today is the kitchen, the bathrooms, and eyeballs. I also have a conference with Caroline’s teacher and a few other short errands to run. I need to know how many sets of eyeballs I need to do for Caroline’s class tomorrow. I am going in and doing a puppet demo because Saturday is Caroline’s Birthday and we are not allowed to give any sort of food out to the kids.

Once I am on the other side of Saturday, I’ll be breathing a big sigh of relief and my house will be clean.

I am grateful that Peter and Caroline had a great time with each other yesterday.

No food? Not even the store bought junk they make us bring to my daughters school? That’s so sad. When I was young my mother didn’t do much baking and I always thought I’d make cupcakes for any of my kids for their birthdays, because I missed out. Now I have to buy them at the market or they won’t use them. The paranoia in the schools these days is crazy. Look up the website Free Range Kids and you’ll see what I mean. In the book (of the same name) she gives statistics and examples of why we fear so much and why we shouldn’t. I am sorry your daughter can’t share a birthday treat with her friends.
