Back on Schedule

Posted By on January 5, 2009

Ariel got up and off to school without too much fuss. I feel sorry for her since she has to be at the bus stop by quarter to seven so she gets up about 5:30 to be ready by then. Caroline got up on her own about 7:15 and was ready to go on time to the bus.

So now I have to sit down and sort out the projects I have to do this week and the next. I need to get out the family calendar and start filling in some of the dates we have things to do on. But I also need pick up my living room from the two weeks of the children being home. At least my laundry is done for the moment.

OK Football. Short version, only one team I wanted to get through got through to the next set of play offs. So it is the Ravens vs. the Titans, the Chargers vs. the Steelers, the Eagles vs. the Giants, and the Panthers vs. the Cardinals. I don’t think that the Titans are invincible but it is more going to depend on the Ravens doing things right than the Titans doing things wrong. I think the Steelers are going to hand the Chargers their heads. The Chargers are good but I think the Steelers offence is going to hit them hard. Giants better bring their A-game to their rival the Eagles. This is the game that is going to cause the most shouting in the North-east. If the Giants slack off for a minute, the Eagles are going to win. Panthers have been playing very well and the Cardinals got pretty banged up against the Falcons so I think the Panthers in a squeaker.

Yesterday Caroline and I had a Mommy/daughter day. We went to an indoor playground that she loves and played around in for over 2 1/2 hours. We went to lunch at McDonalds and watched the Ravens/Dolphins game together while we ate. I answered some of her questions as to what was going on. We then went to our local library and returned our books and then got out more books to read. She ended the day by curling up in her father’s lap and falling asleep with a content look on her face.

Off now to work on my new years resolutions and get my living room back in order.

I am grateful that Caroline and I had so much fun yesterday. I treasure our time together.

Well, here, School goes back on 28th January – we are on Summer Hols now. Brooke is now offically in Yr 11 – so this will be my 2nd last “Back to School” flurry, as she has the Higher School Certificate exams in 2010.

We’re off to Queensland on Saturday for 8 days for our annual family hol. Usually we go for 2 weeks but Number 1 son is scheduled for surgery on the 19th, so we are coming back on the 18th, so are cutting them short. He wants to get away for a break before his procedure – 2008 was a tough year for him healthwise.

It’s 12th Night, so I’m taking the Christmas decos down in a little while. I wish I could leave the fairy lights in the front garden but won’t.
