New Years Eve 2008

Posted By on December 31, 2008

Do I look forward or look back?

Looking back I did some pretty cool stuff and met some pretty neat people this year. I went to a wedding of two dear friends one of which I use to watch on TV when I was a kid and thought his character was really neat. The man behind the character is even neater as is his spouse. I met a Doctor Who writer and his lovely wife who celebrated Passover with us in a New York Hotel. I caught up with another writer friend of mine who looked like he had gone six rounds with Mike Tyson at the time due to his dog, a tire swing, and a metal pipe.

I got to play at the New York Toy Fair, ChattaCon, Farpoint, LunaCon, ICon, NYCC, Wizard World Philly, Shoreleave, Toronto Expo, and DragonCon and I think that was it this year. I like going to conventions. I like meeting fans and other like-minded people. I enjoy the whole con atmosphere.

I saw a lot of good films this year. Best so far has to be Slumdog Millionaire which was amazing. For animated, I would say Wall-E was the best of the bunch however Bolt is Caroline’s favorite. I saw some good TV most of which is canceled at this point.

I added a number of interesting things to my CV/Resume. Now I just need to find a job that can use my rather unique skill set.

Looking forward to next year, well there are a couple of things I want to do next year. I’ll probably sit down this afternoon and make a list of them. Some of it is towards finding a job/career again.

Here’s to 2009 being better for us than 2008.

I am grateful for all the neat stuff I got to do in 2008.

i’m looking forward to the Doctor Who book..is that the one that had a bunch of writers (both you and peter)writing stories for? I’ve been out of touch with a lot of books this year (mostly due to several kitties with health issues)but have been wondering when that would be coming out.

Tell Ariel she is much envied for her David Tennant calendar;) i still need to get the picture that i took of her at the Emily the Strange booth to you guys.

Hope to see you all at the NYCC again this year…hoping everyone is in good health this time around!
