Can’t find my Car Keys

Posted By on September 21, 2007

No, really I can’t find my ring of keys. Last time I can remember having them was in my hand was Sunday as I went to the back door to unlock it for Caroline and me having come back from the Ren Faire. Since then I have been racking my brains as to where I put them. Caroline needed to use the potty so I was focused on that rather than the keys. They are not in the kitchen as I have cleaned and looked there. I have looked all the places I normally look and a few I don’t. While cleaning the house Wednesday I took extra care to look for them.

Why do I need them so bad? They have the only copy of the key to window on the back of my truck which is currently locked with Caroline’s stroller in the bed. I need that stroller and can’t get to it.

So think good thoughts that I find my keys today. If I can’t, this would be the second set in 3 years having lost a set on the Port Jeff ferry or rather over the side of the Port Jeff ferry.

Arrrgggghhhhh *Deeeeeep Breath*

I am grateful that I do have copies of all but one of the keys on that ring.

I assume that you’re not the type to leave them in the pockets of clothing after they habe been removed. That’s a bad habit of mine. However, have you done laundry since the loss? You might want to check whatever you were wearing at the time.

Another dubious thought. I find it highly unlikely that you have neglected to ask Caroline, but I thought I might mention that. From your writing, she seems to be the type of child who notices what goes on around her, especially as it related to you.

A google search brought me to your blog, I am looing for a Boots costume for my 6 month old daughter to go along with my 3 year old being Dora this year. Are you still making costumes?

Every time I lose my keys for more than five minutes, I find them in the refrigerator.

Having just watched “Blink,” I’d suggest you try looking in 1969. 🙂

(More seriously, I hope they turn up — I know that’s frustrating!)

When misplaced, I usually find them in my laundry pockets or the bottom of the laundry basket.

You don’t mention how big the key ring is, but once keys slipped into a hole in the lining of my purse. I tore apart the house looking that time.

One other thought would be in a cabinet – if you had to get out a new roll of tp at the time, for example.

As for the locked window, if you are a AAA member, you can call them and they should be able to help open it.

welp,i would go with what Tim said….i think they’re off in the TARDIS along with one of my watches and a pair of glasses i had only few months before they ‘disappeared’;)

But…mmm…did you have to help any in the bathroom? cuz i’d look in there. I’m sure by now you’ve looked in the lock in the door as well. (that’s where my keys tend to wind up).

Somebody already mentioned this..but double check all your pockets esp if you were wearing a jacket.

Here’s hoping they turn up soon….and if The Doctor brings them to you ask if he’s got a lady’s wristwatch (not to be confused with a fob watch with elaborate engraving!) and a pair if silver framed glasses in his ‘found’ box;)

    So, did you find them?
