Booming Fourth

I was glad to see the rains fall and the thunder roll through last night. It means that the idiots who were firing small armaments might stop. This morning I found only on our lawn five spent rockets. Only our lawn. Not the neighbors on either side of us or the ones across the street. Needless to say I am not happy with the situation and am even happier that we had lots of rain since it seems that our house was targeted. This happened last year but not to this level. I haven’t walked the rest of the property so there might be more. My stomach is in knots thinking about what might have happened if any of us where outside while this was going on or even what might have happened to the house.
I got another part of one of the costumes done. Today I am going to tackle the hardest part. I think it is going to take me a day or two to complete it. I am further along than I have been for a show in a while. I would like to have everything together by Monday but I am betting Wednesday right now.
After we get back I plan to clean the house before we go off on vacation for a week which will be nice. We haven’t told Caroline yet but she knows that something is going on. Right now she is excited about seeing her cousins in a little over a week at Shoreleave.
I am grateful that there is no damage from the rockets.
Wow do I understand.
for years our backyard neighbors start having parties about once a month as soon as the weather gets nice. the 4th o’ July one goes on about a week.
And to paraphrase an old rap addage “311 is a joke”. At least on this part of the Burough of Misfit Toys.
We eventually just had to move our bedroom to another part of the house just so we could sleep at night.
But this year – the patter of rain and quiet bliss, for the most bit. 3 or 4 crackers in the night but man – peaceful.
stay groovy
