Monday Right?

Posted By on June 25, 2007

With Ariel off from school, the days of the week kind of blend together. Now we have to go on which nights we bowl and which we don’t bowl. So the weekend is not much different than a week day.

Got some costuming stuff done and hope to have more done today. I need to find a couple of things that I might do when the shops are open.

Had a good weekend. We started watching the new Robin Hood series that was on BBC America and are enjoying it. Entourage still managed to amuse. I am surprised that after 3 seasons, it doesn’t feel stale or a retread of what has gone before. The gonzo director is a great add. I really don’t have a feeling of where this story line is going. The same can be said about Doctor Who. I am enjoying it and my inner fan girl is squeeeing up a storm but I really don’t have an idea how RTD is going to sum this one up. (Let’s keep spoilers out of the comments this round. I’ll do a New Who Review when it runs on SciFi and the character that John Simm’s plays is in my book a spoiler.)

Off to sew. Have a good day y’all

I am grateful for hearing my inner fan girl again.

Talking of fangirls, there’s an entertaining clip of two Irish fangirls watching the end of ‘Utopia’ on YouTube now. Do a search on ‘Whogasm’.

Yeah, it’s rare nowadays that a cliffhanger actually gets me interested enough to think about it during the week, wish it would get here more quickly, consider going online to look for spoilers (new Who hasn’t produced that reaction so far, for instance, even though I think it’s been excellent), but that’s how I feel this week.

And a brief flashback sequence that I think is a great example of what RTD has done so brilliantly: because they waited until they had an opportunity to do it where it fits seamlessly into the story, new viewers can accept as new information (especially since they’ve been set up for it with lines in “The Runaway Bride” and “Gridlock”), while old viewers can get a big goofy grin because they understand how special it is we’re seeing what we’re seeing.

(Even if I didn’t think much of the information the flashback gave us.)
