Good Day to Stay In

Posted By on May 11, 2007

It is raining this morning and will probably continue through this afternoon. Then scattered showers until tomorrow. They are saying tomorrow is going to be a lovely day as is Sunday which here in the States is Mother’s Day.

It will be my 5th Mother’s Day as a mom. Peter and Caroline are taking me to one of my favorite restaurants and I promised to make pancakes for the whole family before Ariel goes off with Myra. Other than that, I think I will be working on a couple of projects over the weekend. I like being a Mom. It is the toughest job one will ever love. As I got in to my mid-30s I started to wonder if I was ever going to be one but then things happened and here I have a 4 year 5 month old in front of me having an adventure with a pirate ship, some ponies, and Diego (from Go, Diego, Go) who are off looking for a lost treasure at the bottom of the sea so they have to find Tortugas the sea turtle to help them find the treasure. I love it. Later I have promised her that we can paint together which she loves to do.

I have come to the conclusion that Caffeine Addicts should not skip their minimal dose even for a day. I didn’t have any coffee yesterday and woke up with a whiz-bang of a headache this morning. I have been nursing a cup of coffee and between that and the Advil, I can slowly feel the pain just starting to fade away. With any luck the second cup will bring me back to normal.

I am grateful for a clear head.

Mattie has decided that we must go to IHOP for breakfast and to a tea room for lunch on Mother’s day. She already knows the way to her Mom’s heart is through my stomach. I hope you have a lovely Mother’s Day. I know spending the day with Mattie is the best thing in the world.
