Christmas Eve 2006

Posted By on December 24, 2006

The stockings aren’t hung at the chimney with care yet, but there is a fireplace here so we might get around to that.

This is sort of a pause day. There are things to do and rituals to perform later but right now we are taking a deep breath in anticipation of tomorrow. Peter is working on his Fantastic Four novel that he wants to get to the editor before the New Year. Ariel is reading Dracula for the first time. Caroline is bouncing around playing with various toys that she can only find at her grandparent’s house. I am taking that deep breath and savoring the pause. I have been so busy with so many things for a while now that I have been forgetting to stop and take a breath occasionally.

I want to thank each and every one of you who stop by here and read this web log. I want you to know that I appreciate you the reader. I appreciate everyone who comments either on the websites or by e-mail to me. It is a gift that you give me and I want you to know that I don’t take if for granted.

AMerry Christmas to all those who celebrate it. May the peace and joy of the season last you through the next year.

I’m grateful that you read this.

Merry Christmas from here in Sydney, where it’s already Christmas morning. We’re just waiting for the 21, 20 and 18 year olds to wake up so we can open presents. It was a late night last nightas we had our “hot” Christmas dinner laast night with my sister and niece. My Mum-in-Law, brother-in-law and his wife are coming for lunch today, friends for dinner tonight and more friends and rellies tomorrow (Boxing Day). The weather hasn’t been too hot so far this Christmas, around 20-21.5 degrees C and overcast with some rain. Today will get to around 25-28 – not too bad, some years it gets into the high 30s.

Best wishes to you and your family.

A Merry Christmas to you and yours Kath. It is a blessing to be able to read (and sometimes see through your pictures) about you and your family and all that goes on in your lives. I’m seeing stuff from my past with my daughter (who is 13 this year and into the “teenage wasteland” of trying to figure out who she is “now”) in my mind as I read about Caroline’s adventures and growing. Occasional envy when you talk about your Disney trips (especially that Princesses meet n’ greet), but mostly just plain good memories of a great life that I have been able to share with my daugter.

I’m grateful for you posting this for us to see, and hope that one day I will be able to meet you (and the rest of the clan) in person to thank you and say “Hi.”
