Got Bit
Posted By Kathleen David on September 16, 2006
Spider bite I believe. If not something bit me that is disagreeing with my body. I have a bite site and a little bit a radiating but not a lot. I took Benadril before I went to bed. I had forgotten how weird the dreams can be on an antihistamine. So the night’s sleep was not one of my better ones.
I have come to the conclusion that I am never entering my dolls into a formal doll show. I thought workmanship judging of my costumes was strict and stiff apparently that is nothing as compared to doll judges who will discount points for the weirdest things. Apparently the competition is pretty cutthroat too. The doll makers pour their hearts and souls into these dolls and when they are criticized it is a big blow to them. Those that don’t win can be found sobbing in the corner wondering what they could have done or they read the judges’ sheet telling them what was wrong with their doll(s). Doll making can be a very creative process or at least it has for me. Personally I know what I don’t like about a particular doll that I have made. I really don’t need others to point out all its flaws. Plus most of the stuff I make is not standard looking at all. Muchly is a good example of what I like to do.
Got some serious cleaning done yesterday but not much else. Wasn’t from lack of trying more a lack of succeeding. Today I need to restock the larder and a few other small errands. Peter and I want to go see “Hollywoodland” today. I think I am going to give “The Black Dahlia” a miss. I want to see the next Jet Li film and there is one other that I can’t quite remember that I want to see. Fall is a good time for movies.
I am grateful for my mother’s pancake recipe.
Kathleen, if the bite doesn’t get better soon get it checked out. The brown recluse isn’t supposed to be anywhere near you but why take a chance?
I’ve heard from folks I respect that BLACK DAHLIA is a mess. Too bad, the trailer looked good.
I’ll second Bill, and I’ll add my jealousy that Benadryl works on you, weird dreams and all. Most of the time I have any sort of allergic/immune reaction, Benadryl does pretty much zip.
Definitely let us know what you thought of Hollywoodland!

If it starts swelling or doesn’t heal, you might need to drain or clean it out and have a doctor check it out. I had a freind who got bit on the chin somehow by one of those wolf spider’s or brown recluse. Sucker swelled up and finally 2 days later she had to go to the ER to have them fix it up as it was getting worse on the swelling.
