RTBTCKI (The Twitchy Eye Vesion)

Posted By on September 14, 2006

It is one of those mornings where my eye ticks are causing me all kinds of grief. I have eyelid flutter, floaters, and over active glands that are producing a substance that is creating a film over the eye which will sort itself out later. None of these things are indicative of any eye problems and I have had each one checked out to be informed that these are just annoyances that I have to live with. I have been informed that it is better than dry eye which I agree with since I have a buddy who suffers from that and suffers mightily.

“Project Runway” is one of my guilty pleasures along with the “Ultimate Fighter” (which started a new season and I didn’t know it so I might skip this season) in the reality genre of TV. I got into Project Runway because of some of the costuming lists I am on and a Sunday marathon I ran across. Last night they added yet another twist that if you win a challenge then you get one more shot at being “in or out”. I do think Laura deserved the win last night but if it had gone to Michael it would not have been a bad call. Both of them did a fabulous job of fashioning a garment that met the requirements of the challenge. I just think Laura’s looked a little more like a cocktail dress than Michael’s. I do think that Michael stands a very fine chance of being the last designer standing. He has a good eye and follows through with very good execution of his designs. As for the ousting of Kayne, I could see it coming a mile away. This is not the first time that he has skirted the rules of the challenge but this time they called him on it. This after there had been a question Tim as to whether they could use just black or white was were informed that they had to use both and he was rather emphatic on this point. I would like to see Michael, Laura and Uli but I think we are going to get Michael, Jeffrey and one of the two women.

The NFL football season started with the usual sound and fury. I really think things are going to start shaking down in the 3rd week although the Jets/Pats game is going to tell a lot about both teams. I think the Falcons are going to do better than expected this year. There is just something there that hasn’t been the past couple of seasons. The Manning game was a fun one but I expected the elder one to win going in. (No, I didn’t place any bets.)

Mets have their “magic” number down to 2 and I have a feeling they are going to have to win 2 more games rather than wait for the Phillies to lose two. Of course in these parts the fans are praying for another subway series while the executives at the various networks that have a stake in the World Series are praying for an east coast/west coast match or at least some sort of Cinderella story to play up for ratings.

I have started on Caroline’s purple unicorn. I have a few errands I need to run today with her but then I think I am going to finish unpacking from DragonCon (the puppets arrived the other day) and work on the unicorn project. I also have to load the pictures from DragonCon and the Ren Faire into my computer and get some of them to the website.

I am grateful that my vision is clearing a bit more now.

You poor thing, how irritating. Is it a seasonal thing, or do your eyes just do their own thing whenever?

The AFL is in it’s Finals series now. My team is out of contention now, so am barracking for No. 3 son’s favourite team. My daughter has her (field) hockey Final tomorrow (the play off between the loser of last week’s major semi (her team) and the winner of last week’s minor semi. You know Spring is definitely on it’s way when we get to this point in the hockey.

I have to get a start on my sewing. The fabric has come home from my daughter’s dancing studio. I’m “batch sewing” again this year for the end of year concerts. This year I’m sewing for the Pre-school classes 2-4 year olds. At the moment the teachers think that I’ll need to make 20 of them, but won’t know for a couple of weeks. I have to get a size2 and a size4 made by Monday next week so the children can be fitted. I had forgotten how little their costumes are, now that my baby girl is a 13 year old.
