Dr. Who DVD out on the 4th of July but..

Peter got me the Doctor Who boxed set last night. Does the Dance of DVD Joy. He also finished the short story (over 40,000 words) and I got to read the end of it finally since I was wondering what was going to happen next at the point he left me hanging since he hadn’t finished writing it yet. I finished my Fourth of July challenge doll and am pretty happy with it. The skirt is made out of a paper lantern and lights up. Now onto the Shoreleave costume and monsters. I really need to find all the pieces of the Mugato now. I have also sorted out all pieces of Ariel’s costume expect the cape. That is about 1/2 a day to complete. I want to get everything done by Tuesday so I can clean the house on Wednesday and pack on Thursday along with our other usual activities that day. Let’s see how I do.
Caroline is looking at the new Dr. Who Monster book and telling me about the Daleks and the Slytheen. I have tried to convince her that the “robot” is a Cyberman but that hasn’t taken yet. Right now she is telling me a story where the Dalek and the Doctor help the Slytheen with the “boo-boo” on his neck. Wouldn’t it be funny if years down the road she did write an episode of Dr. Who? She has such an imagination.
Today is errand running and a few other things that must get done today. Then I want to get the fabric for the clothes and hat cut out along with Monster heads and mouths. If I can get that all done I will be pretty happy.
I am grateful for stories of Dr. Who by my little girl.
Nothing against the Sci-Fi who at least made the series available for American viewers, but the DVDs are really the way to watch it. I’m still trying to wade through all of the episode commentaries, some of which are really quite enjoyable.
My Jennifer, who is nearly the same age as Caroline, also loves Doctor Who. When the first season came out here in Britain she was a year younger but already a fan. After having seen the Daleks she was delighted: She emptied the paper basked in the living room and put it over her head, shouting “extimminate”, “extimminate”. It was hilarious 🙂
Now the second season is being shown and now that she understands more of it, she is even more involved.
I’m working my way through “Sapphire & Steel”, xourtesy of NetFlix. Watched the first two, so far — Steel’s a cold bášŧárd, isn’t he?
Have to see if NetFlix has the new “Dr Who” — though i do have 132 items in my queue already…
Pictures of my (step)grand-daughter at http://electronictiger.com/roare/, BTW — these are old ones but newer ones may be coming soonish.
