Almost ready for Halloween

Posted By on October 30, 2005

Yesterday was a very productive day. I sorted almost all the comics to be given out. I trimmed the front hedges and put up the lightings. I got Caroline’s costume down to attaching the skirt and putting in the zipper. Have I ever mentioned how much I hate putting in zippers? Unfortunately this is not one of those cases I can substitute Velcro for the zipper. Then onto the last piece(s) of Ariel’s costume and I am done for Halloween. I have to dig up some puppets for a display in New York City that I agreed to do. I have until the 3rd for that.

Caroline was a very good little girl yesterday. She played with her toys while I worked on various projects. She even helped me with putting up the lights by holding them for me. This morning I came in and she was apparently telling her bears that she had lined up a story. She told me part of it but all I could really understand was that it was cold where ever she set the story. Right now she is playing with her letter blocks. She is really into puzzles and how things fit together and how else they might fit together.

I am grateful for all I got done yesterday.

Not to be rude, but how do you get so many comics for Halloween? Are you able to get them discounted/free from stores? the companies? Or are they straight off the shelf? Are they from FCBD? Are they from the 25c/50c/$1 bins? The only reason I am asking is because I would like to give comics out next year and would like some advice on it. Thank you.
