MOST HAPPY Tech rehearsal

Posted By on October 7, 2005

Tonight we open the UNYYC with Most Happy. Tickets are still available and not unreasonably priced for New York Theater.

The tech was like riding a bicycle, you never quite forget how to do it. We have a good crew to start with and I am sure there will be a bump or two during tonight’s who, but we teched that puppy. Jarad, the lighting designer, and I just went from cue to cue to cue and made it about the tech. My cast was wonderful about allowing the evening just to be about the tech rehearsal. So I think lighting is in a good place. Slides and Music will be caught up by tonight but at least everyone can see the actors.

I finished everything I promised for the show….weeeell almost. I have one Spanish hat to put back together and another hat that needs its veil attached. Next week I want to tackle cleaning the living room and excavating my desk. I want to get pictures of the cat mask I made and the hat to add to my portfolio. I came to the decision that I do too much of this stuff not to have a record of my work. I didn’t think I had done that much but I sat down and went through the number of things I have made for shows and don’t have a record for it. I have a bunch of puppets and masks that I have no record of either.

I really enjoy making this last mask once it was all done. I think I may do one now for me rather than as part of anything else. Either that or start working on the next mask I need which is currently for FarPoint. A little bit of creative can go a long way.

I am grateful for all the help I had last night.
