Some Progress

Peter made it to San Diego after a very long flight delay due to equipment problems and then heavy rains. He is catching up with friends and colleges. San Diego for him is very much a business convention. Sure he still has fun but he is working the whole time he is out there. I guess that is one of the signs that you are a pro rather than a fan.
I managed to get our living room hammer back into shape. Today I want to finish up the kitchen and pick-up Peter’s office before he gets back. The whirlwind known as Caroline is the determining factor as to if I am going to be successful. I am so looking forward to our vacation next week. I need a little time away from the pressures of stuff that is nibbling at the back of my mind that I need to do this Now. Peter is going to join us and it will be the first rather unstructured family vacation in a while. It will be nice. Our cat sitter is very happy to house sit since we have air conditioning and her house sort of does on a good day with the wall unit.
Today my plan is to get the last of the shopping I need to get done for the trip. Finish up the laundry and get some food shopping done. I want to start on the puppet eyeballs I am going to use at Crescent City Con but if I get to them tomorrow I will be OK. I also want to get the rest of the fabric and the electronics for this doll I have been working on. I have most of what I need for it. I want to get that and a couple of monster puppets done before the beginning of August. No more costumes until September for me. I am still very tired but I don’t feel like I can’t get done what needs to be done right now. That is a plus.
I am grateful that I do feel more awake today than I did this time yesterday.
I’m glad that Peter made it to San Diego OK and you’ll soon be in a position to join him there.
I was wondering, is it SOP for Peter to be the one to go to “The Con” before his family does or do you and he alternate playing Advanced Scout at functions like this?
Have a nice and SAFE trip, by the way.
Dear Kathleen,
Hi! I hope you’ll remember me from a few years back, when we met in the Del Rey offices. Chris Schluep had just purchased my first novel, FAT WHITE VAMPIRE BLUES, which you’d been one of the first readers of. Just wanted to let you know that I’m greatly looking forward to seeing you again and to meeting David at Crescent City Con in a few weeks. I’ll be a fellow guest and will attend with my wife Dara and my baby sons Levi and Asher, as well as my teenaged stepdaughter Natalie. We’d love to take you guys out to a lunch or dinner (or just coffee), time permitting. I hope you both have a wonderful time in New Orleans.
Best wishes,
Andy Fox
