Caroline can now climb out of her crib. I don’t think she had tried this before because we would come when she would call and pick her up. But apparently yesterday she decided to become independant.
This morning she got up, climbed out and processed to play with her toys until I came and got her this morning. We are now going to have to baby proof the downstairs doorknobs to keep her from getting into places she should not go without supervision.
We knew this day was coming and hoping it would be a bit later.
I am grateful that she found her way out without any injury.
I’ll never forget the day that our son Philip discovered this particular skill.
We’d put him to bed about seven pm in his cot. We were watching television, when the door opened and he toddled in, cool as a cucumber, and made for his toys.
I took him back to the cot and placed him in it. He looked around, quite puzzled, as if unsure as to how he got back there and I said “OK, smartie, do it again.”
So he did.
Cue Laura looking after him while I then converted his cot into a bed. Pillows were then stuck by the side of the bed and we got out the childproof door to attach to the door frame.
Gosh, what fun!
