Tom Delay go away

Speaker of the House Tom Delay is “warning” that the judges who ruled in the Terry Shiavo vase should beware since they went “against” the wishes of the Congress. Someone in the Republican party needs to sit on him hard. The system of checks and balances has worked for over 200 years now, why mess with it because someone didn’t do what YOU wanted them to do? This is a slippery slope that once slid down it will be dámņ hard to get up from.
I don’t know that there are many checks and balances left, Kath. When one party pretty much controls all the branches of government, and finds ever more ways to prevent effective opposition, we can kinda throw C&B out the window.
Just ONE of the many things I admire about the US is the system of checks and balances that you lot have… don’t tell me that it’s all just a polite fiction after all!
