Moonlite Madness

The Soxs win during a Lunar Eclipse. Hmmmmmm. Cosmic Weirdness or Good Baseball? You decide. My husband had an interesting point on his blog about this win.
At approximately 11:40 last night, Boston baseball fans forever lost the right to blame their team’s woes on a decades-dead player. Instead from now on, win or lose, their team’s fortunes will now rest squarely on their own heads. Henceforth no matter what happens with the Boston Red Sox, it’s their fault. If/when the team shows up next year bearing no resemblance at all to their current state, the fans don’t get to claim that Babe Ruth caused over half of them to be up for free agency this year.
This is, of course, a mortal blow to the perpetually victimized Red Sox Nation, whose team is no longer a collection of pre-destined losers who will always break your heart, but instead…just another team. And that may turn out to be the most heartbreaking development yet.

Which is true. Now only the Cubs hold that sort of record. Anyone for a Yankees vs. Cubs game next year?

You know that by calling it a tragedy that Peter is saying the curse is till active.
Also, some might argue that since a fan had to die, a sacrifice was made to appease the gods.
Yeah, I know that’s a callous remark considering someone actually died. But I’m just predicting that some comedian somewhere is gonna say that after enough time has passed.
Geez, could it have taken me longer to realize that you have your own blog going too? Either way, seems you are quite popular amongst the other puppet sites. Off to read your past blogs. Have a great Halloween! I’ll have pics up soon of my Spooktactular up on my site soon as well.
Ciao!
Thanks for the credits, Kath, that was unexpected and sweet! I wish the pictures would have come out a little better, I was having trouble taking them sitting down. 🙂
