More importantly, he made me and others believe a man could walk.
I remember the movie and also remember liking it, but it was his attitude and resiliance after the accident that made me respect him. His work toward and belief that he would walk again one day was nothing short of truly heroic.
My condolences for your loss.
My condolences for all our loss.
My condolences go especially to his family and friends but, the more I think about Mr. Reeve, the more I realize that everyone needs condolences on this one…because we have all lost someone very special.
i cannot begin to say how heartbroken i am over this
my condolonces to all his friends and family
The only person whose perserverance I admire more than Christoper Reeve’s is Teddy Pendergrass.
Invictus
by William Ernest Henley; 1849-1903
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate;
I am the captain of my soul.
