It’s the Ren Faire, Why not dress her as Ren and one of you can go dressed as Stimpy?
Speaking of weather looks like we’ll get a break this weekend from any named storms hitting North Carolina agan. Fortunately, the eyewall of Charley was so compact, that wind and rain damage was limited to the coastal areas. I live in Raleigh, so we’re about a hundred miles inland. With less compact storms, that uusally makes no difference.
I hated the way they showed the saber final – they showed the semi-finals as complete games, why show the final as just a highlight? And the way they fawned over Jacobson, almost completely ignoring Zagunis – they do this time and time again, focus all their media attention on the cover-girl or cover-boy of the moment, and nine times out of 10 another American wins. I call it the Tara Lapinsky Syndrome, and I wish they’d get over it.
Elayne,
While I agree that the saber final wasn’t shown well at all, I’m a little mystified by your claim that they “fawned over” Jacobson at the expense of Zagunis. The coverage I saw showed a lot more of Zagunis, both in terms of her match and the celebration afterwards. Am I missing something?

Tim-
It was the commentary and “against adversity” stories that were all about Jacobson. The focus of the air play BEFORE Zagunis won was on Jacobson.

Ah. Must’ve missed that part. Thanks, Kath.
