Even though I am not on the train going into the city to work, it just has that Monday feel.
First thing I had to deal with was the front left tire which had a metal object lodged in it causing a slow leak. $15 later, my tire is fixed and I now own the odd piece of metal that was in the tire. It looks like a bolt that needs a cotter pin to hold it in place.
Peter blogged the Oscars with me typing until he fell asleep and then I took over and finished it. It did go a little late. It was fun. I am not sure what was proven by the awards given. I know they are trying to go for a younger demographic and not make it seem like the stodgiest awards ceremony of the season (they are trying to keep the Tonys there). Seth McFarlane did a good job. Some of the jokes did fall flat but overall he managed to keep it light and moving. I have to admit I was as surprised as him to the reaction of the Lincoln joke. And X-Men: Days of Future Past now has an Oscar winner in its cast.
Thank you to everyone with all the help with the art auction. We still have a couple of pieces going including an original Flaming Carrot piece. The links are at JK Woodward’s blog . Because of your generosity and good will, we can pay off the first round of medical bills as we await the second set to arrive. We will never be able to thank y’all enough for all that you have done for us in our time of need.
I found my lost portfolio with pictures of my early work including the first set of Doctors, Pinhead, and other things I have made. Ester Friesner sent me some photos of me and the original little Morphie and Neil, Puppet Neil, and me from somewhere back in time. I am thinking of scanning the photos into the computer and putting them up on a site for people to view my work. I look at these photos and remember all the other puppets I have made over the years and it is a pretty impressive total. There are a number I have no record of because I wasn’t thinking about building a portfolio.
Onto the next thing that needs to be done in the day.
I am grateful to the auto shop that takes care of our cars.
