If this had been a normal year, we would be driving down to DragonCon 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I would be worrying about the puppet slam and going through my head with a punch list of what is left to be done and figuring out when we can rehearse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first DragonCon puppet slam was in 2011. I participated with a piece I had done originally at Shoreleave that year entitled \u201cIt\u2019s OK to be Takei.\u201d We had a sound issues, but it all worked out and we had fun and got the audience to laugh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Shoreleave 2011. I used the same puppets and a couple of friends at Dragoncon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next year was one of our best I think which was \u201cFor a Lord of Time\u201d using the Billy Joel song \u201cfor the longest time\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next one was \u201cGet Loki\u201d based on the Song \u201cGet Lucky by Daft Punk. I assembled the Avengers and had three Loki\u2019s in the mix to pull off the gags. That is the biggest set of puppets I have ever built for one show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We did a bit of a turn the next outing by taking one of Peter\u2019s unpublished works entitled \u201cThe Cad in the Hat\u201d, a parody of the Cat in the Hat. Maurice LaMarsh did a wonderful job of reading the poem as Orson Wells and I will always be grateful to him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most recent one was Hellmo\u2019s World which I have been wanting to do for years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I did have a great one for this year but that will go on the back burner until next year or I might revive Lord of Time for the 10th<\/sup> anniversary of the first DragonCon puppetslam or do both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
