We lost one of the good guys to cancer.<\/p>\n
Andreas was one of the reasons I got into Babylon 5. I had watched the pilot but it hadn’t done much for me so when it went to series I was busy stage managing and figured that based on the pilot I really didn’t have the time. My buddy Rich was appalled that I wasn’t watching the series so he sat me down and made me watch 6 episodes in a row. G’Kar and Londo made me interested in what was going to happen next in the series. The sniping between the two was masterful. Both were and are powerhouses as actors. I got hooked and watched my way through the rest of the series and all the spin offs.<\/p>\n
Fast forward to a number of years later. Peter had told Andreas that Peter and I had gotten engaged. I had been introduced before that to him as Peter’s girlfriend. It might have been Farpoint or I-Con but it was 2001 and I am pretty sure it was Farpoint. Peter and I went to say Hi to Andreas. He was signing stuff but there was a lull. He saw us and rumbled to me “So you and Peter are to be married?” I told him yes that it was set for May. He said, “I need to talk to you.” He asked the people starting to line up for his autograph to give him a minute. He got up and we stepped away from the signing tables just him and me.<\/p>\n
He told me that he considered Peter a friend and Andreas was concerned for his welfare since Peter is such a special guy. He asked if I loved Peter. I said of course. He asked me about how Peter and I met and a number of other questions.
\nThen he asked, “Does he make you laugh?”
\n“Yes. All the time. It is one of the reasons I love him.” I replied.
\n“Do you make him laugh?”
\n“I try.”
\n“Then you have my blessing. Be good to him.”
\nI promised I would and we returned to the signing table.<\/p>\n
