I know it is Wednesday but Photobucket, the WiFi and my computer didn’t want to talk to each other so here it is<\/I><\/p>\n

Caroline, after much thought, decided she wanted to be Destiny Harper from a comic books series called Vamplets. She had a specific ball-gown she wanted to recreate. It was going to be hard but not impossible.<\/p>\n

This is going to be very photo heavy thus the cut<\/p>\n

I used a Cinderella pattern based on the film for the basics of the outfit. Our first issue was that I had to use the adult pattern since they were sold out of the kids. So there is assumed cleavage that does not exist on Caroline. <\/p>\n

(For the VI: This is photo of the pattern I used. It is Simplicity Pattern 1026. The upper left is the Fairy Godmother in a white ball gown with white wings and in the lower right is Cinderella in a blue ball gown with white tulle)<\/p>\n

I did a couple of things that were outside the pattern. First was that my lining was flannel since it was going to be cold and I wanted her warm. I redid the back so it would fit her and still look good. I free handing the bustle and had to remake it twice to get it to look right. The fingerless gloves were repurposed sleeves that didn’t work for the look of the dress. I added straps to hide her bra straps and hold the top in place.<\/p>\n

Pumpkins were fun this year. We happened to get a rotten one that didn\u2019t look rotten until we cut it open so only two.<\/p>\n

I did Oogie Boogie from Nightmare before Christmas<\/p>\n

Caroline did a wolf howling in honor of Elfquest.<\/p>\n
