The main reason I haven\u2019t updated until now is that the wifi on this side of the hotel does not exist. It becomes a whole thing to get onto the Internet in the hotel lobby.<\/p>\n
That and Peter is finishing up his next Star Trek: New Frontier novel and so the computer is being used for that. He is at the point where he is really on a roll and heading for the end of the story. So any spare time he had is being spent writing.<\/p>\n
Caroline has been having a blast. She has a number of friends who come to this convention and they run around in their little group just like Ariel did back in the day. I see her when she gets hungry and when she checks in with us.<\/p>\n
I was not schedule for any panels this year so I have had some free time to talk to people. I have caught up with a number of friends and met new people as well. <\/p>\n
Peter had been doing his usual convention stuff. <\/p>\n
All in all a pretty quiet convention. The most excitement, if you can call it that, has been the weather which has been a bit nasty the past 24 hours. I think a lot of people have memories of Farpoint\u2019s past where we got snowed in. <\/p>\n
And for the first time in quite a while, I didn\u2019t bring any puppets. Felt a little weird and I don\u2019t think I\u2019ll be doing that anytime soon. I got a crazy idea for DragonCon that I might have to do. Or it may turn into a puppet slam piece. I just have to figure out how to built top hats and derbies for my sized puppets. Or I might go for my first all female puppet display. <\/p>\n
I have been given a writing challenge. Can\u2019t say more than that but it should be interesting. I am going to give it a go and see if I can pull this off. I have to do some research along the way.<\/p>\n
I did discover some more theater folk in my convention circle. They didn’t know my background nor I theirs but it sure gave us something to talk about. Someone asked me if I missed stage managing. I said there are parts that I miss and other parts that I am so glad I am not dealing with. I still know how to do it if called upon and it is interesting to see where that skill set has been useful. <\/p>\n
I even got to talk puppets this weekend with a fellow puppeteer that I have talked to online for a number of years but we met face to face for the first time here.<\/p>\n
It was nice to just have time to do what I wanted to do or what Peter needed me to do. <\/p>\n

\nThe drive to and from was not bad. A few spots of traffic and we avoided pothole repair both ways.<\/p>\n
We got home and the cats were happy to see us since the heat had gone out. That problem is solved and they are much happier then they were.<\/p>\n
So lots of fun. Next year I will be putting something in the art show and I might be on a panel or two.<\/p>\n
