Since Peter had his stroke.<\/p>\n
It started two years ago today in Disney Hollywood just outside Sid Cahuengas (which no longer exists). <\/p>\n
So here\u2019s a reminder of the things to ask if you suspect someone is having a stroke<\/p>\n
Ask the individual to smile.
\nAsk him or her to raise both arms.
\nAsk the person to speak a simple sentence.<\/p>\n
And I would add the tongue test where you have the person to stick out their tongue straight. If it is canting one way or the other, get them to a hospital ASAP.<\/p>\n
Two years later and Peter is in the lucky 1% who is considered to be fully recovered from his sort of stroke. <\/p>\n
His upper mental skills were never damaged. He just had to regain motor coordination on the right side of his body, which he fought hard to do.<\/p>\n
We had to make a number of changes in our lives and are thankful we didn\u2019t have to make more.<\/p>\n
Today we are on our way home from visiting family in the south. We have a drive in front of us but we can do it. And the best thing is that we can do it together with Peter.<\/p>\n
Hug your loved ones. Tell your friends that you appreciate them.<\/p>\n
Because in the blink of an eye, your entire life can change.<\/p>\n
