{"id":4855,"date":"2014-12-27T08:22:41","date_gmt":"2014-12-27T13:22:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kathwp.malibulist.com\/?p=4855"},"modified":"2014-12-27T08:22:41","modified_gmt":"2014-12-27T13:22:41","slug":"two-years-have-passed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kathwp.malibulist.com\/index.php\/2014\/12\/27\/two-years-have-passed\/","title":{"rendered":"Two Years have Passed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since Peter had his stroke.<\/p>\n<p>It started two years ago today in Disney Hollywood just outside Sid Cahuengas (which no longer exists). <\/p>\n<p>So here\u2019s a reminder of the things to ask if you suspect someone is having a stroke<\/p>\n<p>Ask the individual to smile.<br \/>\nAsk him or her to raise both arms.<br \/>\nAsk the person to speak a simple sentence.<\/p>\n<p>And I would add the tongue test where you have the person to stick out their tongue straight. If it is canting one way or the other, get them to a hospital ASAP.<\/p>\n<p>Two years later and Peter is in the lucky 1% who is considered to be fully recovered from his sort of stroke. <\/p>\n<p>His upper mental skills were never damaged. He just had to regain motor coordination on the right side of his body, which he fought hard to do.<\/p>\n<p>We had to make a number of changes in our lives and are thankful we didn\u2019t have to make more.<\/p>\n<p>Today we are on our way home from visiting family in the south. We have a drive in front of us but we can do it. And the best thing is that we can do it together with Peter.<\/p>\n<p>Hug your loved ones. Tell your friends that you appreciate them.<\/p>\n<p>Because in the blink of an eye, your entire life can change.<\/p>\n<p>I am so very grateful that Peter is still here.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since Peter had his stroke.
