There are the beginnings of a new movie based on the Henson classic The Dark Crystal<\/i>. The script is in the works by at least one of the original writers. Most of the creatures are going to be CGI and Animatronics. They are shopping it around Cannes right now.<\/p>\n
If it is done right then I am very happy about this news. It wasn\u2019t totally unexpected considering that Dark Crystal<\/i> is one of the few properties the Henson Company still owns outright. Having seen what they did for Hitchhikers makes me more comfortable with the concept of not using puppets as such.<\/p>\n
Right now for fans of the original it seems almost like battle lines are being drawn on pretty minimal information. There are those who will not be happy about a sequel even if they brought out a letter and a manuscript from Jim saying this is what he wanted to do next. There are those who want to visit the world again and are happy that the Henson Company is going to take them there. There is even an individual who is irate that they are not using or even looking at his script. Apparently he doesn\u2019t know or choose to understand all the legal ramifications of doing so. Sort of like a number of people who have tried to get me to read their Star Wars scripts.<\/p>\n
Today is very much a Caroline Day (well everyday is a Caroline Day really) since we have Mommy and Me. She is doing better at participating but still won\u2019t sit for all of circle time. She does love to go there and gives her teacher big hugs. It\u2019s Pajama week so I guess I\u2019ll pick out a pair of her cute PJs and let her run around in those. Yesterday she picked her own ensemble which consisted of a pajama shirt with Ariel the Little Mermaid on it, a pair of blue jeans and her pink fuzzy boots. She was quite insistent on both the shirt and the boots. Fashion maven she is not, but she looks the way she wants to look.<\/p>\n
