There is a possibility of a blizzard heading for my part of Long Island. It could be something or it could be nothing. Here is how I am going to make sure it is nothing.<\/p>\n
1. I am going to the library and return the books that I was planning to return Sunday (their due date) so I don\u2019t have any overdue books around the house.<\/p>\n
2. I am going to buy a cover for the air conditioning unit to make it snug for the winter. I know where I can get one so that\u2019s a done deal.<\/p>\n
3. I am going to go to the grocery store and get those things that you always get before a storm including brownie mix. I was going anyway today so I am not really adding to my day.<\/p>\n
4. I am going to move one of the snow shovels to inside the house so we have access to it<\/p>\n
5. I am cancelling plans to get together with a friend on Sunday. This was by mutual agreement because their weekend got packed with stuff too.<\/p>\n
6. I am going to go around the property and make sure I don\u2019t have anything that could get blown around in a high wind. I am going to secure the garbage cans and double check the lights.<\/p>\n
7. I am going to find our hats, gloves, scarf, and snow boots.<\/p>\n
If we are already for it, it will not come. I have done this for a couple of years now and the only time we got hit was when I blew off getting ready for the storm.<\/p>\n
