One thing I have learned since becoming a parent is that plans will change within a short period of time. Yesterday I was getting ready to go down to Baltimore for the Boogie Knights concert and today I am home with Caroline who is very congested this morning.<\/p>\n
Since she is getting over bronchitis, we decided that would be wise not to expose her to any more germs. So Peter and Ariel are off to the concert and a few other things we had planned while Caroline takes it easy for the weekend so she will be ready for school on Monday. Also I can administer her breathing treatments in a timely fashion if we are home.<\/p>\n
Parenting is the fastest way I know to learn how to be unselfish. Once you have a kid, then you are responsible for the health and well-being of that child. And sometimes what you would like to do is does not mesh with what is needed. So you put the child first.<\/p>\n
I am lucky that my husband believes in being even handed in childcare. He has taken care of a sick and sniffy Caroline so I can get more sleep or get errands done. He has been up with her very late at night when she needs a parent. He makes it possible for me to take sometime off from being Mommy.<\/p>\n
So it is going to be just Caroline and me for a bit. If she is feeling better, I will probably take her to see Madagascar II. But right now she is snuggled up with me and kind of vegging right now.<\/p>\n
