It turns out that I am allergic to Celebrex. How do I know? Well after taking the second dose, I broke out in a lovely itchy rash all over my tummy and chest. And it itches. Oh boy, does it itch. So I went onto the benadryl regiment to hold the itch down to a dull roar.
On the plus side, my foot is feeling better. I can put two thoughts together without thinking about the pain I am feeling.
This week is I-Con and PBA bowling. We’re going to the finals on Sunday with Caroline so be on the look out for us in the stands. I think we (being me and Caroline) will only be there on Saturday. I have to limit my walking for a while.
Next week is Passover, Easter, and the Wendy Froud Doll making workshop. The week after that Peter has to take a business trip. The week after that is C2E2. Then I think we have a week to breath before Peter is off to Uruguay. But I could be wrong. We even almost double booked ourselves at one point but figured it out before it became a problem. May has a few things as does June and starting in July then running through October, we’re pretty booked.
Somewhere in there I have a few projects I need to get done starting with a Dragon Egg for a Hogwarts swap.
I am grateful for the ability to think without too much pain.

Plantar fasciitis is a pain in the heel. It is an inflammation of the plantar fascia ligament which can cause quite a lot of pain. I was miserable yesterday and I couldn’t get comfortable no matter what I did. So I went to the Doctor figuring that they might be able to something so I could at least get the pain down to a dull roar. She agreed that it seems to be plantar fasciitis and suggested that I go see a podiatrist. I asked for a recommendation and they called a local one who just happened to have an appointment that afternoon.
I went to see the podiatrist who was very good and he agreed that it was plantar fasciitis and that it was a bad case. He had a course of action and I have to say that I feel a lot better this morning than I did last night. Now I have to get an x-ray just to make sure that nothing is broken and next week we see where I stand.
There is still pain but at least I can think rather than the mindless pain I was in yesterday. And I can walk (sort of) which is much better than yesterday and the day before. Now I can get some stuff done but I don’t plan to push it too far because I don’t want to end up back to where I was yesterday.
I need to get some supplies for my critter making course that Wendy Froud is teaching. I’ll probably bring extra for others in the class. I always like these concentrated workshops. I learn a lot and tend of get my spirit renewed.
I am grateful for Doctors who listen and give good advice.

Yep, I managed to irritate the tendon in my foot and it is in a world of pain. It was one of these cases that I don’t know how I did it just that it happened and it hurts.
This puts the kybosh on a bunch of activities I was going to do today since they all involve walking which is not very comfortable today. Nor is just sitting right now. *sigh*
This also may limit my time at I-Con this weekend due to the pain in my heel.
I have an appointment this afternoon but I don’t think there can be much beyond the PT exercises that I have already been doing.
I am grateful that I can walk even if it is an effort.

The panels went well. I had one incident during the steampunk panel that was mind of odd but that was not my shining panel for moderating (sorry ladies). Geek parents raising kids just turning into a friendly discussion among friends but it is nice to have panels like that. The Is British TV losing steam was interesting and we added Glenn Hauman to the panel when another panelist had to bow out early. We managed to discuss a whole bunch of issues.
But I think the thing I am proudest of was my new pieces that I put into the art show.

I think that these two are a step up from what I have done before. And the Sage won a Judge’s Choice Award, which has me mighty pleased.
The drive back was rather uneventful on my side of the road. The other side had some serious problems including construction and car accidents. The cops were out in force and I got to see a car that was driving both fast and was dangerously threading its way through traffic almost causing an accident two cars in front me pulled off to the side by the highway patrol.
I made it back and waited for Caroline and Peter to get back from their adventures in New York City. We had a pleasant evening and it was nice to sleep in my own bed with my husband.
I am grateful for minimal traffic on the way home.

I haven’t been a stage ninja aka catcher in a Masquerade in more years than I care count. Last night due to life, they were short a couple of ninjas and I said I would give a hand. I walked the stage and found a couple of problems with being able to see in the dim if not dark so I found a role of bright yellow spike tape and fixed the problems as stage managers only know how. I explained to a teen, who was teching for the first time, why I put the tape down as I did passing on the information to the next generation as it were.
I got to have a short video visit with Caroline and Peter. I moderated a panel that went very well I think even though I move it slight in another direction. I went to the bar and had a drink with some old friends and talked about everything under the sun.
Today I have three panels starting at 11 and going to 3. I will then pack up my art show stuff and head back home where I will probably get there before my husband and daughter since they have been invited to participate in a music video shoot in the city. But with traffic, who really knows.
I am grateful for decent scotch and good friends.
