Miss Me? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Posted By on May 16, 2011

OK here is this weeks web log schedule barring the unforseen.

Today I am picking Ariel up from College.

So New Who Review will be either Tuesday or Wednesday and Crafty Tuesday will be the other day.

After that I’ll catch y’all up on the weekend and such.

Then we should be pretty much back to normal for the summer.

I am grateful that this weekend went very well.

Crafty Tuesday is on Hiatus This Week

Hope to do one next week.

However I will yet again open the floor to questions and hope that I get more than I did last time.

I am grateful to the eyes that read this post.

New Who Review: The Curse of the Black Spot

As usual no spoilers before the cut but after the cut and in the comments everything is fair game. Also we are only talking up to this episode. Speculation about the future is allowed but please keep it Internet Spoiler free.

It is nice when you get an episode that is not specifically geared to a Doctor’s incarnation. The way that they would get to the solution might have been a bit different but this would have worked for any and all. It did feel like a bit of a mash-up but I thought more Treasure Island than Pirates of the Caribbean.

The plot did hold together. It was a mystery that ran its course and had a very good Whovian twist. We did have a few hints of things to come but not hitting us over the head with it. It was sort of a bottle episode in that there were not a lot of sets for it but they are still probably catching up from their jaunt to the US.

I am grateful for an episode that felt like Old Who. (more…)

Happy Mother’s Day 2011 Edition

Posted By on May 8, 2011

I have no idea when I am going to post this since my Internet seeming to be popping in and out with no rhyme or reason other than to make getting on the Net rather annoying.

Mother’s Day for us started yesterday really. We went into the city to go to a family lecture that Gwen was doing at the Cloisters about Renaissance Dress which she did a splendid job with. After that we went to Time Square and wandered through the World of Harry Potter Exhibit which was a lot of fun except all the people trying to take pictures so they were blocking what they were doing with their bodies so no one could see anything. I want to go back and have another look at it sometime. It is a costumer’s dream. We then had dinner at Virgil’s BBQ and headed home.

This morning has been bagels with lunch planned for Popei’s. A rather leisurely morning and day.

Later, Peter took Caroline to see Hoodwinked Too so I could have some time to clean without anyone in the house which makes it easy to do. We are probably going to go bowling for a bit and then have a quiet dinner.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. We wouldn’t be here except for you.

I am grateful that I have a Great Mom and I got lots of hugs and a card telling me how super a Mom I am.

Not going to be around much

I will post my New Who Review for Monday and my Tuesday Crafty Post and probably something for Mother’s Day so that’s the next three days but not much else.

In one week Caroline will be celebrating her first communion. She has been working very hard the past two years on getting ready for this.

Yesterday we got her dress, shoes and other things she is going to need for next week.

Caroline in her first communion dress
(For the VI readers: She is wearing an ivory colored dress with a short sleeved jacket. There is beading along the seams and the bottom of the dress. She is wearing a white veil on a hairband with white silk flowers.)

She loves her dress as do I.

The rest of the week is getting ready for company which is why the internet and I will be parting ways for the most part.

Usual ways to get in touch with me will work but maybe a touch slower.

I am grateful we agreed on a dress.
