Again I ask no spoilers for the final episode beyond what we have seen in the series not the ads. And, as usual, everything behind the cut and in the comments very well may have spoilers up to and including Closing Time
This was one of those episodes that you could have pretty much dropped any Doctor into and pretty much gotten the same result. Which is nice to have an episode that could be any Doctor rather than a specific incarnation of the character.
It was nice seeing Craig from The Lodger and see how he has gotten on with his life after having encounter with the Doctor.
Overall I enjoyed this episode even thought we were in yet another bottle episode but this one didn’t feel like a limited bottle episode.
I am grateful that this was the episode I saw before the finale.

Anyone have any ideas for topics for Crafty Tuesday? My brain seems to be on strike.
Monday will be my next New Who Review and I’ll just say that last night’s episode amused me greatly.
Also, if I may ask, why do you read this web log? I am trying to sort out what I do that other people like to read.
Yeah, I am questioning myself on a whole bunch of stuff. Nothing that y’all did or didn’t do more things going on here that I can’t really talk about at this time.
I got to watch a new and shiny (to some) fandom rise and fall in a period of less than 6 months. I guess some fans are that fickle.
Decided to do the Novel in a Month. One year I posted what I was writing but this year I am of two minds about it.
Going to see the Jim Henson Exhibit at the Museum of the Moving Image today. Then we are taking Peter out for his birthday lunch at a restaurant we don’t get to often.
Rumor has it that the video of “It’s OK to be Takei” is going up soon on You Tube. I’ll inform y’all when I have better information on it.
I am grateful for chances to see Jim’s work.

Jim would have been 75th today.
Outside of my parents, I would say that Jim Henson is still one of the biggest influences in my life.
His work had inspired me and amazed me.
But it is more than that. He managed to surround himself with like-minded people who were brilliant at things that he might be good at but he could see the genius in others. He could take a group of creative misfits and get them to work together as a team. Which I can say from years of stage managing is not an easy thing to do. And his people were very loyal to him. I think in all of my time meeting various people who worked with Jim Henson I have met two that had problems working with him and it was more philosophical differences than how they were treated by Jim.
That is a very special talent that doesn’t come around often.
The nice thing is that you can still see that quirky looks at the world that Jim’s Muppets were so famous for in the current work on Sesame Street and the viral videos that have come out of the Muppets and Sesame Street. The Spiderman video with Grover is pure Henson madness. And then there is the new Sesame video that has gone viral on the letter “G” and Glee.
And then there are the trailers for the new Muppet Movie including the new one based on the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo called the Pig with the Frog Tattoo. Stealth humor was a Henson signature. He took you down one path and you would suddenly find yourself on a totally different path with no idea how he got you there.
I know we all wonder what would have happened if. Honestly the Disney deal would have gone through a heck of a lot sooner than it. Probably the Creature Shop would have moved to California or at least Orlando. So many of the things that did happen would have happened at a slightly faster pace. I do wonder what he would have done with the current CGI technology.
I plan to watch a bunch of Muppet episodes and maybe a movie or two today in his memory.
I am grateful that the Muppets are coming back to the front of people’s minds.

Today is my husband’s birthday and if you would like to get him something, how about buying his newest book so he can get himself something nice?
His latest book is called the Camelot Papers and you can find more information and links to the e-book and the trade paperback at Crazy 8 Press
It is a look at the Legend of King Arthur if Camelot had to deal with the current 24 hour news feeds and spin doctors. It is told from the point of view of a castle slave named Vivian who has a unique look at what is happening around her. I really enjoy reading this one while it was in progress and the final version has a few things I helped out with.
I am also asking y’all help to get the word out about this book. Tweet it. Facebook it. Any social network that you can think of. We need people to know that this book exists and is for sale. The more people that know, the better for the book. Go forth and get the word out. Let’s prove that social networking works.
So help give Peter a Happy Birthday and get yourself a really fun book in the process and tell all your friends about it.

At 10 AM this morning I am going over to Caroline’s school to give the Librarian a hand with some things that built up over the summer. Usually this is all done before school starts however this year they (being the school district) decided that Librarians are not necessary in the elementary school and they have split his work schedule between two schools. Which stinks for the children in both schools. I am livid at this and really hope that we can find a way to sort this out in our schools favor.
I also have a house that needs cleaning, cats that need attention, projects that need both starting and finishing. I think I am going to give a go at the Novel in a Month project and see if I can get the bloody thing done. I have decided to forego the LJ Idol this time around but I serious encourage others to give it a go. I have a brain that is both racing a mile a minute and is informing me that it hasn’t had enough sleep.
All the Mets can do this year is spoil it for someone but Barney got to have a cigarette this week.
Glee was Ok and they are setting up the exit for a number of characters but it was almost too mean in places. Hawaii 5-0 started off with a bang. I need to catch up on one or two other shows that Peter has seen I haven’t.
My 30th High School reunion happened. I am seeing pictures of people I haven’t seen in 30 years. We did all right as a class as a whole. I didn’t know until years later that I went to such a small high school but at least I have a fair idea of who everyone is.
Fig is going on about something. She may be trapped again. I’ll have to go see what happened.
I have been listening mainly to movie soundtracks recently. Helps me concentrate.
I am grateful for time in all its forms.
