As in we are staying home this weekend, which is the first time in a long time that Peter, Caroline, and I have been together on a weekend.
This weekend Caroline and I start in earnest on her Science Fair project. I am taking her to the library to find books on animal behavior and animal training. We have to set up the experiment and the control.
This evening we are watching Hotel Transylvania for cartoon night maybe with an episode of Animaniacs in the mix before hand.
Peter is slowly getting better every day. He is doing his therapy and working on getting back what he lost.
We are on the last day of JK’s art auction people which the details can be found here with some additional items here.
Off to do my neck stretching and back strengthening.
I am grateful that we have a quiet weekend.

We are in a pattern that is hard to see. There is a pattern to what we are doing but it is not complete at this time nor does it make much sense. Chaotic as it is, this is how our lives are for this week. By next week, other things will be in place and the pattern will come more into focus. There are things I need to add to the pattern to make it work for everyone but until I can get it into focus, I can’t figure it out.
Our lives change daily. It is just part of living. It can be minor things that change or it can be major things. The major things tend to make us sit up and take note of the change or force the chance upon us.
But even with that change there are some constants in one’s life. Things that are just part of life that we don’t even notice. Some of these constants are comforting and others need to be changed because they create destructive patterns.
I have been thinking a lot about patterns recently. Makes me wish we had a labyrinth in the area that I could go walk and just think. I am avoiding thinking about some things that I really should be taking head on and I know I am doing that. That is an old pattern that I have worked years trying to break but it still creeps in. That and dusting. For some reason I hate dusting.
So we work through the patterns and figure out how they move and change which is happening a lot these days. It will all work out in the end. Just seems a little messy right now or maybe that’s because one of the cats just barfed.
I am grateful for patterns that work.

We made it to Farpoint this weekend much to the amazement of just about everyone.
I think it did us all a world of good. Caroline got to visit with her posse. Ariel hung with hers. People got to talk to Peter and see that he was on the mend. I got to spend some time talking to friends I see rarely or spend more time talking to online rather than in person. I also had a lot of fun talking to the guests of the convention especially Bonita Friedericy. Most of the media guest there knew Peter for various reasons and they were all happy to see him walking around.
Our many thanks to everyone who participated in the charity auction for Peter’s medical expenses, we appreciate all those who organized and all those who gave.
We still have the art auction going over at JK’s site . Three days left for some beautiful and iconic pieces of art. And none are out of reach of the pocketbook. So bid now and bid often. Also helping to get the word out is a lot of help in matter like this. Hey Spike fans, we have a page from Peter’s Spike vs. Dracula comic book in the auction.
The neck is doing better in bits and pieces. I had my second of eight sessions and it feels almost normal. The range of motion is quite good. There are still twinges but that is to be expected.
Over all things are on a bit of an upswing right now which, considering the past month, is not a bad thing.
I am grateful to everyone who has helped us through this whole ordeal.

Happy Valentine’s Day to those who celebrate it!
I can remember as a kid making a “mailbox” out of either a box or a brown paper bag in school and attaching it to the front of my desk. Then on Valentine’s Day, we would put our valentines in the “mailboxes” of our fellow students. Since this was before the time of everyone gets one or no one gets one, the number of cards was a sign of popularity amongst the kids. I did OK but never great in that contest but I got enough that I didn’t feel bad and I enjoyed the cards a lot.
Caroline carefully chose her themed cards this year. Disney princesses with lovely stickers for the girls and Spiderman with kicking temp tattoos for the boys. They are written out and packaged up for school today.
Peter and I have something a little different planned to do together today. Well not exactly together but we will be in the same room. Peter is going for his physical therapy evaluation for his out patient rehab while I am being evaluated for PT for what happened (is happening) to my neck and spine. So technically we are having couples therapy for Valentine’s Day.
A reminder to the Farpoint participants, there will be an auction for Peter at the convention. Ariel organized it and did a fine job of getting some rather unique items for it. So be on the look out for that. With any luck we will not have the snow repeat of about 10 years ago where the convention went an extra two days. I can’t decide if acting lessons with Armin Shimerman or Tai Chi with Erin Grey were my favorite extra activities from that convention. I hope everyone has fun there.

I am grateful that we got the PT schedule to work out so well for us.

Well it is now live for bidding and all the pieces are breathtaking. There are some iconic pieces and some that you are going to have to see to believe.
