Crafty Tuesday: Yoichi from Seraph of the End

Posted By on January 5, 2021

Caroline has been participating in a number of on-line conventions mostly Anime based. On a number of panels, she has been dressing up as one of the characters from the Anime.

She has been either making or thrifting most of her costume pieces and re-styling wigs for the various characters.

She came to me with this photo and asked, “How complicated is the jacket?”

(For the VI:  This is a young man in a military uniform. The coat is blue with gold buttons and green accents.)

“How long do you have?” I asked.

“About a week.”

“Let me do it”

I sat down and did a breakdown of the coat.  I had a pattern for a civil war coat that I could start with, but I had to draft half the coat.

This is how it turned out. I am going to make the belt and the pants down the road.

(For the VI: This is Caroline dressed up as Yoichi. She is wearing a brown wig she styled, the military jacket I made, and white gloves.)

I am very happy how it turned out.

I am grateful for all the patterning skills I have learned over the years.
