SDCC See All You Can See

Posted By on July 25, 2020

Because you will not see it all.

One thing about the San Diego Comic Con is that there is a lot to see.

You can walk the entire floor, which would take most of the convention, and still not see everything since a number of the larger booths change their displays around each day to make people want to come back.

One thing that I love is all the screen used costumes on display. You can see details that you will never find in a photo online or a screen grab.

Antiope wore by Robin Wright in Wonder Woman or as it was nicknamed Warrior Buttercut.
(For the VI. This is the top half of the costume. There is a styling bronze headband with a star in the middle. A bow is held in the left hand with a quiver with one arrow across her back. The armor is made of brown leather and put together with metal studs. In the belt are two small wooden daggers)

Doctor Strange worn by Benedict Cumberbatch in Doctor Strange
This was my holy grail that year. I had made the puppet by that time, but I wanted to see how the real costume went together. I took lots of photos of all the details.
(For the VI: This is a three quarters view of the screen worn Doctor Strange costume. It has a red cloak with a high collar. The tunic is blue with wrist wraps of strips of dark blue, light blue, and brown. The belt is nine different pieces of brown and blue leather wrapped together with a sling ring attached to the belt. Around the neck is the eye of Agamotto.)

Baron Mordo worn by Chiwetel Ejiofor
(For the VI: This is a front view of the costume. The color is primarily green with a cloak, tunic, and a seven-layer belt)

Another activity you can do is take photos with the costumes and there are photo ops all over the convention.

Caroline and Katana screen used costume
(Caroline is to the right of the costume of Katana from Suicide Squad. The costume has a white headband with a red sun, a katana, black pants, black coat with red accents anda red sash. Caroline is wearing a grey t-shirt with the Pokemon Evie evolutions and purple pants)

Caroline sits in Discords Chair from My Little Pony
( Caroline in her Rey costume sitting lit with a pink light on a throne with eyeballs and horns at the top)

And there are all the previews of the toys that will be coming out this year.

Monster High Dolls Mattel
(for the VI: this is a display of a variety doll by Monster High)

She-Ra classic Hasbro
(for the VI: This is a display of the classic looking She-Ra from the 80s)

I am grateful for all the places to take photographs at conventions.
