Merry Month of May 2020 edition

It’s Friday May 1st, 2020 aka Day 47 of the homebound saga
This morning I listened to Julia Andrews sing “Merry Month of May” from Camelot as I do every year.
For those who celebrate I wish you a Happy Beltane and Happy May Day.
I want to see a social distancing May pole.
Today is picking up the pieces from the beginning of the week and trying to move forward. Back is still painful but not as sharp as it has been. If I am careful, I should be able to get some things done. I am still using the heating pad to relax the muscles that tense up when I get that sharp stabbing pain in my back.
Peter and I are watching the Sondheim 90th birthday celebration. It is very enjoyable if you like Sondheim. However, The Ladies that Lunch is worth your time just for a powerful rendition of that song with a powerhouse cast.
It is one of those mornings that I am waiting for my brain to come back into focus as it seems to be going several directions at once. I can feel thoughts slipping in and out of my brain. Nothing seems too important that I need to keep a hold on it. I am keeping a pad of paper next to me in case something seems more important to remember.
Also today is the 30th anniversary of the publication of Good Omens. I have a first edition signed by both authors. I really loved it the first time a read it and it ages well. Neil did a great job of adapting it for the small screen. Now when I read it, I hear David Tennant and Michael Sheen’s voices in my head.
I am grateful for friends who entertain me.
