Waiting on the Weather

Posted By on February 12, 2019

OK we are back up and running here. There was some error that caused a bit of a pause. That seems to have been cleared up and I am posting again.

This will probably be one of those weather fronts that the North shore and the South shore of Long Island are going to see two totally different sets of weather. On the North shore they are talking snow and ice and rain causing possible driving problems. The South shore might get a little snow before it all turns to cold rain. As long as you drive like an adult with a couple of years of driving under your belt, you will be fine on the South Shore.

Farpoint was amazing as always. Lots of little adventures and spending time with friends.

Highlight for me was getting Vizzini to Wallace Shawn who informed the head of Farpoint that he was ‘gobsmacked’ at the gift in a good way. He really liked it. I was able to talk to him for a short time about his work in both theater and film as a writer.

It was also nice spending some brief time with Maurice and Rob doing our short catch-up on life and family that we always seem to do at conventions.

I talked to a lot of people about various topics but was only on two panels included a Dr Who driven one that I tried to turn into a discussion as there were eight people in the room. Gave me some freedom to wander the convention.

We left Sunday because Caroline had school on Monday. There was snow and sleet that fell after we had gone. People leaving Monday said it was a bit of the pain but they all got to where they were going.

This week is all about putting things back from Farpoint and getting ready to visit Ariel and family next week. We have made our dates flexible because of weather considerations.

I am grateful that we made it home in the amount of time it should take to get home.
