(Now with Flailing Kermit Arms)
I honestly need to get the Icon that is Kermit with the flailing arms for days like this.
Got a lot of stuff half way yesterday. Today is all about the finishing but I think I am going to make it all about the clean up and finishing on everything I currently am working on so I can go onto the next project with a clean conscience. I have a list of things that need to be done so I am going to start at point A and work my way to Z along with the laundry.
I am a Planet of the Apes fan from way back when they were first coming out. My parents probably gritted their teeth and took me to see the first two sequels as they came out. The rest I saw when they had Ape Weekend at the Silver Screen. I watched the TV shows both animated and live action. I kept up with my Apes. I even went to see the Tim Burton version of the film.
Yesterday I went to see “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” and I was just amazed. First off the technology has made such leaps and bounds from where it was even a couple of years ago. I think Andy Serkis can emote as anything up to and including a paper bag. It was nice seeing John Lithgow doing what he does best which is some darn fine acting. My respect for James Franco as an actor increased. Brian Cox is still a really good villain. It’s nice seeing Freida Pinto in a role that was color-blind casting. I really hope that she gets more roles in many different films because she is a good actress. And then there was Tom Feldon who’s face bothered me the whole time but I didn’t twig onto who it was until Peter told me. Nice job Tom. I do encourage people to see it in the theater. There is a scope that will be lost on smaller screens.
Well the Mets are talking about bringing up some of the new kids and trying them out in the big leagues. I don’t see why not. They aren’t going anywhere after September and they need pitching and hitting.
The Earthquake: I was in my truck going over a repaved part of the road when it happened. I was afraid that the truck has seriously gone out of alignment all of the sudden or that this repaved road was worse than what it replaced. Got to the movie theater only to find out what happened. We had a couple of toys fall at the house but that was about it.
The Hurricane: Of course there is one. We are a week away from our drive down to Atlanta so something has to cause massive problems between here and there. We are going to batten down the hatches and get our yard clear of things that could fling around in high winds. We have plenty of water but may need a few things to tide us over. Got a day or so to see where it is really coming.
I am grateful for weather that decides to go way out into the Atlantic and leave me alone.
