Survived the Party. Now onto the Rest of the Year

Posted By on December 6, 2009

Hard to believe that it is 20 days to Christmas and 26 days to the end of the year but I have found since Caroline arrived on the scene that this is how my life goes now.

At least the house will be clean for a while so that worry is off the table.

Today we are taking Caroline to see The Princess and the Frog at the Zeigfeld theater in the city. She is looking forward to it. I think we may go in early and look at the Windows at Macy’s and the tree at Rockefeller Center and some other holiday things. It may be a little cold but there is no rain or sleet or snow like there was last night. We had one heck of a storm pass through. Plus she has a new hat and gloves to wear to keep warm. (Sidenote to Jen: Caroline took her alligator with her to bed and declared that it eats bad dreams. Thank you.)

Tomorrow she goes back to school and I begin to sort out what is next for me to do. I have things that need to be done so the list still exists but I might have a little more flexible time to get some creative things done before the holidays. I do need to get the holiday lights up. I think I may do that this morning with Caroline’s help or at least get it done tomorrow. Monday’s are pretty busy for me these days.

Tuesday I am a chaperone for Caroline’s class to the theater for Alice in Winterland done by the local children’s theater. I am having serious flash backs to the Alliance Children’s Theater in Atlanta that we would have a field trip to about once a year. Wednesday I might go in and have lunch with some friends in the city. I want to see the Burton exhibit at MoMA and the Sesame Street exhibit at the Brooklyn Library. I know I can’t do both but I can at least see one this week and maybe one next week.

I am grateful that Caroline had such a nice birthday.
