On the West Coast for FoolsCap 2009

The plane ride was fine. Getting Delta to take the luggage was a PITA. Due to a Delta Agent telling us we could not get out at Terminal 4 and we had to go to Terminal 3, we “missed” the cut off for luggage by 4 ½ minutes which was earlier than usual. We finally sorted out that it was because of the UN assembly that they are on high alert. Once on the plane, we were fine. Caroline was quite the little trooper about the whole thing. Makes me hold hope that the trip to Australia is going to be OK.
So far our stay has been nice. Our room has a nice little balcony that we can sit out on. It hasn’t rained but been a bit cloudy and quite pleasant this afternoon. We have been easing into the convention and have a day to get our times sorted out. Caroline has been having a splendid time. At some point this evening I will have to sit her down for about 30 minutes to do part of her homework.
But right now we are relaxing and take some time to just smell the roses or whatever flower they have out there.
I am grateful that Caroline is such a good little traveler.
